Quirky shop. Quick service. Food tasty. Good portions . Drinks extra cost. Dont have too book. Limited number off tables though.. didnt like that dogs allowed in such a small place. And not cleaned after left.
It does what it says on the tin, lovely pie, mash and gravy. The filling for the chicken pie was particularly good. Not offering the full range of pies yet due to covid.
I've been here 3 years running, the first 2 years was Excellent. me & my partner visited recently, we waited patiently for nearly an hour & the food was luke warm??? Surely it should be piping Hot also nearly £10 for pie, mash & peas. wouldn't rush back unfortunately.
Went in for first time today, lovely meal, served in traditional enameled steel bowls, great service with a real smile. A quaint, traditional environment, super antidote to the usual fish and chips at a sensible price. Highly recommended.
Visited in August 2020 the place is friendly and homely and the pies superb and full right to the top. The staff are helpful and efficient, good choices, quick service, lovely gravy and even Henderson Relish. Would definitely recommend you don't even have to book.
