Java is a really nice cafe and has lots of choice for food and drink. Plenty of choice if you are dairy free etc. The peppermint slice was delicious and the soya hot chocolate with honeycomb was delicious as well.
We called in just for drinks the food looked really nice that we saw but unfortunately a member of staff really let the team down. She was very abrupt almost barking at customers maybe she was having a bad day but this will put me off going back which is a shame.
Tried it out tonight, and the food was excellent. I had a chilli burger and my wife had the Swiss burger, with a portion of fries to share. Couldn't eat it all as the burgers were that big. Staff were nice and friendly. This is a hidden gem, and we are looking forward to returning here next time we are in Whitby.
If you are looking for a delicious breakfast, don't look any further. Great food, friendly staff and a very good cup of coffee. What more do you need.

Staff not very friendly. Chocolate milkshake tasted exactly like my friends Butterscotch one.
Excellent food and service. Coffee a little on the weak side as the English like it, but not Aussies with a non-descriptor bean. Dog friendly!
Nicely prepared drinks but no table service. Got quite busy which unfortunately made it crowded.
