Our ‘comfy’ room was well appointed and the location is super. The grounds are lovely...

Lovely little place, tucked away in a quiet side street. The food was absolutely delicious. My partner and I shared the breakfast board, and it was fabulous. I also had the granola one day - which was so good, and covered with berries. And possibly the greatest scrambled eggs of my life on another day. The staff were lovely and friendly, and inside there's a relaxed calm. Sadly, I didn't get to try any of the tempting looking cakes, as I was too full. Next time, Rusty Shears, next time.
what a little gem! hidden away is this lovely cafe serving breakfast brunch lunches etc. bags of character and lovely ambience with traditional, vintage vibes. ordered the traditional breakfast and it was delicious. big doorstops of toast were fab! best to book as it gets busy.
We shared the breakfast board and ordered some coffees and tea. The breakfast was super tasty and really nice amount for 2 to share before a day out in Whitby. The staff were super friendly too. A nice hidden delight.
A Google search of 'best breakfast places in Whitby' Rusty Shears came up close to the top, and the photos helped us make our choice. We were lucky to be seated quite quickly, and both chose the full English breakfast, and spoilt for choice for hot drinks. Really nice atmosphere, I enjoyed the black pudding, which I usually avoid. Its the kind of place I could sit for hours trying out different teas and enjoying the local company. We didn't eat the cakes, however they looked amazing and a good reason to visit again on our next trip to Whitby.
Four of us had delicious breakfasts here this morning. Fast, efficient service in this popular café, every table looked to be taken as we left. Allowed us to customise one of our orders, this was much appreciated. Recommended, next time we're in Whitby we'll be back.Food: 5/5
I absolutely love this place. It was recommended by a friend who knew we were coming to Whitby. You would never know it was there, it's behind a gated wall which takes you into a lovely court yard with lots of greenery were you can have a drink before you eat. Inside is amazing and quirky, it's like being asked around for tea by a friend. The staff are superb and extremely knowledgeable about the food they are serving you. Great gin bar serving local gins and again they know all about them. Such a relaxing atmosphere. It was so good we tried to go back the next week but they were full unsurprisingly. Definately going to come back
Cosy, fabulous friendly staff and delicious food. I had the Avocado with poached eggs and smoked Salmon on toast, my partner had the full English. It was cooked to perfection and so enjoyable just one thing my partner wished he could have had some baked beans with it, much more of a personal taste than a complaint. And I have to say that was one of the best cappuccinos I've had! Definitely give this little cafe a visit if you're in Whitby, we'll be going back.
Love this cafe! It has a cute terrace and is dog friendly. Great selection of cakes. Anyways stop here for a coffee and cake when in Whitby.
Very laid back cafe/restaurant. Lovely quirky interior. Amazing cakes, light salads and sandwiches, great gins and beers. Not so much food choice on a sunday but if you want a light meal with amazing cakes in an off main drag location that's dog friendly too it's a good place to go.
This is a nice hole in the wall place that offers a variety of cafe style menu items. It has a cute terrace styled outside seating as well as the inside which is filled with beautiful decorations. I only sat outside with my partner and we came here for an early breakfast on bank holiday weekend, we were lucky to be seated as it got quite busy. I ordered the spice chai latte and scrambled eggs and it was one of the most delicious and filling breakfasts I’ve ever had. I sound like a cliche but it really did set me up for the rest of the day! The spiced chai latte is really smooth and hits the spot. As for the scrambled eggs they must have made them 1000 times before getting them this perfect. I’ve never had eggs made that outstanding before. I highly recommend this place for a breakfast to tackle the other activities at Whitby!
