I don't often write reviews but simply had to on this occasion. My husband and I went here to look at a small second car for me. From the moment I called to enquire,  this company has been excellent. Their customer service approach is second to none. Nothing is too much bother for them. We dealt directly with Peter who is a wonderful character and so helpful. I really don't like car garages either used or new, I always feel pestered and bothered in them. Not here you will even get offered a tea or coffee should you wish. I looked at my car on the Friday and it had been put through its first MOT and given a service and was ready for me to collect on the Monday. The car was advertised as having reverse parking sensors but on viewing the car it didn't. Without hesitation Peter said not a problem we will have them fitted for you! I even got a courtesy call from Peter the following day to ask how I was getting on with the car. I only drive automatics and Howard Johnston Ltd specialise in them, so without doubt when I am looking to change my car again I will go here. I would also like to point out this car purchase was for a second car and it was at the lower end of the price range of cars available to buy here, that did not however have any impact on the way we were treated. We were dealt with the same way with as much enthusiasm and help than if we were buying the Bentley they had in stock. Thank you, Thank you for making our purchase a hassle free and pleasant experience. I have no doubt we will be back! Top team.

Unheard of Customer Service. My mother recently bought a car from this garage and the feedback i have is almost unreal. It seems that nothing was too much of an ask, they were genuine and professional people to deal with. Also by the sounds of it the after care so far has been exceptional. They even tuned in the radio to her favourite stations and said  she will never need to pump up her own tires. Why isn't every car buying experience like this??? I commend you!

I have just bought a car from Howard-Johnson cars and have to say how excellent a service it was. From initially contacting them through an advert on Autotrader I was immediately comfortable speaking with Peter about purchasing a VW Golf tsi without travelling to Edinburgh to see it . I knew the Car, spec , mileage and price I was after and having tried and failed to purchase one from VW Lookers (due to poor customer service )  I saw the Howard Johnson advert and was throughly impressed with their help. Having agreed a price for the car ( which was nearly a thousand pounds cheaper than at Lookers)  Peter arranged to have the car brought to me, 300miles away, and it was exactly as I had hoped. He kept me in touch daily to update me with the sale and I have to say how happy I am that it ran so smoothly. 
I highly recommend them. Excellent.

We bought a Vauxhall astra there a year ago. No problem at all with it, it works perfectly and    we didn't have any mechanical problems. 
They are really professionals and helpful.

I purchased a Fiat Panda from here yesterday, after talking with David and having a test drive last weekend. This dealership is very unlike many others, because there is never a hard sell, they are very informative, and their priority is customer satisfaction. Peter had even arranged some minor work on the car before handing it over to me, because I believe it he wouldn't hand over keys to a car with a known fault. I would definitely return to purchase another car in the future.
