Generally satisfied from my last visit. House of Fraser in Milton Keynes up to the standards just like the rest of their shops everywhere else in the UK. Neat shop, clean and tidy and the staff always happy to help. I purchased a nice t shirt last time I was there because I really liked the atmosphere. I just felt like I was at the right place to shop.
Even giving this store a one star is giving them too much credit . It’s amazing how the name brand of a store elevates the status of people working there to becoming high status people , treating everyone as though they are mere human beings . I as a doctor went into a store to buy some Yves st Laurent makeup and was shunned by a hijab wearing security guard , even though the store was still open and then not wanting to sell to or serve us mere mortals. It’s an absolute joke. You want to try our store in Norwich. No one gets bad service .
A bit disappointed, took my 89 year old mother to buy some clothes for an up coming holiday, lots of staff stood around till and changing room, but not much interest in providing any assistance or help. My mother chose two dresses, asked if they had them in her size, a quick shrug of the shoulders from assistants. Asked if some one could help, told that the lady who may be able to help was away for lunch, back in half an hour. Left the shop, it all appeared to be too much effort for the staff, they lost a potential £150 sale.
Good store but I always struggle to actually buy anything when it is busy due to the unmanned concession style tills. I have had to leave items and walk away on more than one occasion. On the upside, this is great for my bank balance.
Great store, wide selection. However staff was limited, had to wait a while before staff came up to help me pay for my items. It wasn't clear in the first place where the will was, but I got there eventually!
Sad to say the staff did not seem to care about the customers. They are all too busy talking about a night out. I actually had to ask an assistant to move so I could look at jeans. That said 2 young men had been helpful in the All saints area and desiel area. Other than that shocking customer engagement. All too young and lazy! Store is becoming very run down and dirty and it's only a matter of time before the rest of sports direct products move in.
Okay, I've got to admit I'd been dragged all the way round MK by my daughter so it's hard to remember which stores I've been in. I do know I got a quite nice and not to expensive backpack here and I do recall the member of staff I spoke with being nice and friendly. So yes give it a go.
It's a good site because this store sells things, however I had recalled recently a negative experience at this establishment; a very loud "alarm" rang defeated me & other cohorts, the staff simply stood around like mongols not knowing what's going on or informing us what is happening. It was so loud that several metres away from the store I could still hear it ringing very loud I was not pleased
Manager Barry was really rude to my other half. He refused to give his name, so she got if off another employee. Not surprised they're having a Closing Down Sale with the attitude he had.
I walked into buy a lipstick from #Nars and on the floor, there were probably two customer service reps/ sales ladies. What has happened to customers being served and shopping being an experience where you walk away feeling on top of the world. Shopping is therapeutic to most of the customers. And most of them now purchase online and just only buy what they want. But there’s a good chance of an extra purchase when a customer is actually physically present in your store. When I entered the store I felt like I was walking into a deserted, dead, inhospitable place. There was literally no one behind any of the counters. I served myself. Yes that’s fine if you are in a super market. I went around picked up whatever color I wanted, found a mirror tried them on, used up some cotton to wipe it off and tried more on and left the floors on the counter I was using to try the colours on. There was a girl, thoroughly bored, moving from counter to counter spraying perfume from the testers and eventually sauntered towards me and asked if I wanted any help. When I apologised for having used the cotton and making a mess on the counter her response was “oh that’s ok I don’t work in the Nars counter anyways”.. but she did look to see if the color I wanted was available. I miss the good old days where customer was king and treated as one. We have to move with times and understand that everything now happens online due to convenience and cost. But if there’s still traffic to your store, please provide us with an experience where we would feel we would rather come back to the store than purchase online. Sales girls are just busy hanging clothes. Teaching them customer service and going the extra step for a customer, engaging with the customer, sharing product knowledge or just being helpful will bring you an extra purchase, a return customer or a great review. If you don’t have a manager who understands customer service and shares that knowledge with the staff invest in one. Whether #HouseOfFraser is only online or not, customer service is key. I was honestly disappointed by the lack of it and the fact hat they didn’t even care if you made a purchase or not. If you want to stand out and edge out your competition customer service is still key. They had lots of nice things I’d have liked to try on. Am I going back - no I don’t think so. #SportsDirect #HouseOfFraser
