Nice little place set miles from anywhere in the Galloway forest. Only two rooms and a small rental apartment so book well in advance. Food is great but bar hours are irregular. This may change in tourist season. Visited in December so rather quiet but there's a caravan park just up the way so I dare say it gets chokka in the summer.

Fantastic place for a wee getaway. We stayed in the cottage for a couple of nights and were very comfortable. The hotel itself is a short drive from Newton Stewart where I was heading to visit with family. We enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant on one of the evenings which was absolutely top notch, it's clear why this place won some awards this year! The hotel is also right in the middle of the Galloway Forest Dark Sky Park, so on a clear night the view of the sky and stars is simply breathtaking - something I've really missed since moving to the city 20 years ago! Thanks to all the staff for being so welcoming and accommodating, we'll definitely be back again.

A wonderful place to eat! Lovely food, friendly staff and service. Dog friendly in the bar area.
