Great property, quiet and picturesque location. Stayed for one night in a double room, the room was small but comfortable and nicely furnished. The staff were great, very helpful with all our questions and requests. Breakfast was included in the stay, which included a selection of cereals, fresh fruit, yogurts, toast and full English breakfast. A very enjoyable stay!

Great little location and just perfect for that afternoon cup of tea. You might want to work on the speed of customer service (counted four members of staff behind the bar and yet it took 6 minutes before we were served and we were the only ones waiting- but hey it was a Sunday afternoon and the staff were very friendly). Loved the place, will be back again.

Room was quaint, I would suggest that the rooms might need a little bit of money spending on them to freshen them up a little. However it was clean and the staff were friendly. We got a room on a deal, so was well worth the money that we paid.

Don't go to this hotel if there is a wedding on and especially if you are a wheelchair user. The wedding party comment about you being in the way when entering the main door. The manager is rude when you try to sit at a table that is more accessible for a wheelchair and tells you that you will be in the way of his wedding party. The disabled toilet is located in the ladies and is for both sexes. The carvery today (beef) was so tough the cow must have been at least 40 yrs old. Used to be a lovely place to go but it has deteriorated both in food and manners. Unfortunately I had to put one star as it would not let me post. Minus would be better.

Hotel Rudyard is getting better and better every month that goes by. They have great staff, who do really try hard and are helpful, the decor is constantly being refreshed, and generally the place is being overhauled and improved! The food is good value, but could be improved, with all fairness the management are trying to do just that at the moment, they have just brought out a new menu, The Carvery does need some improvements, perhaps to introduce some new produce? Overall it is improving constantly, and I would recommend a visit, My wife and I visit weekly as we only live in nearby leek, it's set in a wonderful scenic area, right next to Rudyard lake itself, which is an idyllic setting at anytime of the year. My only concern at the moment, is I feel the new management do really need to interact more with the customers, whether that be old or new customers, there is definitely room for improvement in this area! When we see an improvement in this area I will gladly give Hotel Rudyard a five star rating, for continual improvement, value for money, friendly staff, and the grounds and setting in which the Hotel is situated.
