Story

Castle Camping Ltd is a scenic, well appointed, family-run campsite. The Boote family are seasoned campers themselves, so they know what goes into a good campsite.

The site sits atop the ridge of Mow Cop, with stunning views over Biddulph, Stoke-On-Trent, The Peak District, Congleton and the Cheshire Plain. The Gritstone Trail, The South Cheshire Way and The Staffordshire Way go past the campsite. Backpackers and single sex groups are more than welcome. Mow cop is also great for seeing wildlife such as Buzzards, Green Woodpeckers, Lapwings, Foxes and Badgers.

Transport links are excellent, with railway stations at Kidsgrove and Congleton. Access by road is easy, we are only 15mins from the A500. There are several pubs within walking distance of the site, all serving fine food and ales these include The Mow Inn, The Ash Inn and The Cheshire View. There are also several supermarkets within 10 mins drive.We have 5 hardstandings,15 electric hookups, toilet, shower, indoor dishwashing, fresh and grey water points and elsan point.

The Staffordshire Moorlands is a beautiful place to visit. Castle Camping Ltd makes an ideal base for exploring the local attractions.

Absolutely brilliant campsite. Very friendly owner and team. Facilities were spot on, very neat, clean and very well maintained. Outstanding views. Price was very reasonable with electric hook. Definitely coming back and highly recommended.

We highly recommend this great little camping site, for kindness of the staff, the hight standard of the facilities and the view. We found this lovely little camping just by chance. The view from the camping site is just stunning. The staff are extremely  professional and welcoming.The amenities block is extremely clean, with roomy cubicles, sinks not only in the commonal area, but also in each toilet, with mirrors and clothes hooks. There are also a fridge and a freezer; in each shower cubicle there are towels to place on the floor as a mat, a mop to wipe the floor clean and a sink with mirror, clothes hooks and a chair;  there is also a family shower. The camping site is a small one and the ratio toilet-showers/ campers is a very good one.We never had to wait for going to the toilet or taking a shower. We'll definitely go back again. Outstanding views, excellent facilities on this members only camping and caravan club site. Just a few miles from Stoke on Trent and yet feels a world away from the hustle and bustle. Two pubs in easy walking distance and another within two miles. Amazing Autumn sunrise this morning.  Dog-friendliness: Dog friendly site as usual with the club.

Small site with 2 levels a great view and spotless  facilities. Site also has electrical hookup and firepits available on request. There are also 2 pubs within less than a mile if you fancy a walk down a country lane. Would absolutely recommend.  Hope this helps if you found this useful please give it the thumbs up.

We camped for just the night and also hired a log burner, I found the site to be very clean and well maintained they have a lovely toilet and shower block, they are very clean and have good facilities. The gentleman who greeted us was laid back and very happy to help us with any needs. This site has great views and is reasonably priced. We will definitely be back.

Such a beautiful place, some lovely sights, you can see from miles around, was full if snow when we went! Gorgeous! Facilities are lovely and modern and very very clean and warm! Quite a few toilets all spotless and smell fresh, few shower rooms also, will deffo be returning to this spot, we'll happy with our stay

This is an amazing little site. The views from the pitches are stunning. The owners are very friendly and the facilities are excellent. The pub, the Mow Cop Inn, is a real relic and probably hasn't altered since the 1970s.  Easy walking distance to the National Trust owned folly castle. Great place for a stay.

Been twice in 2 weeks. Brilliant place for a family with kids and dogs welcome too. Love coming here and Barry is such a nice bloke and the facilities are always clean

Such a lovely site, with stunning views, toilet facilities are great, showers are nice and powerful that don't go off half way through your shower!!! Dog friendly with lovely walks on the doorstep.  Being on a hill it can be a bit windy so check the weather.  Lots to do in the area, Knypersley Reservoir is a lovely walk, will definitely return.

Absolutely adore coming here to stay! Literally only a ten minute drive from my house but feels like I’m a million miles away! Lovely and clean facilities and owners are always so welcoming! The view! Phenomenal!
