Beautiful listed building. Elegant with an understated Scottish feel. The food is rather pricey, but honestly I feel it was well worth it. The staff all manage to strike a wonderful balance between deference and friendliness. Not always easy to do! I gave 4*'s rather than 5 simply because I have mobility issues and due to a breakdown in communication, I was left rather stranded in a beautifully appointed, but inappropriate room for my needs. The hotel, being old and quirky, really isn't suitable for anyone with mobility issues.

Not a bad place to stay for a couple nights. Some of the rooms are receiving a remodel, which is good as the rooms are beginning to show their age. The restaurant service is excellent, however menue selection could be better as there are not a lot of options. The wine selection, as expected, is superb.

Bar is very nice and the dinner I had deserves a Michelin star!! Amazing!! Went back to the bar after the dinner and the waitress said I could not stay there drinking because I was not staying at the hotel! I friend who was there said we were all together and the problem was solved...

Have been for the taster menu 3 times, a couple of important life events have happened here. Rooms are amazing, service is fab.

Decent sized rooms for a small meeting. Bar area was nice and staff were helpfull. Meal was a good standard, although I would say not worth going for food alone.
