Stayed here recently for a wedding. It’s a decent value hotel. The rooms are a little tired and worn in places. That said, the bed was excellent. Very big and very comfortable. It was also nice and quiet.nnCheck in process was fast and straight forward.nnBar was alright but limited selection in beer, typical hotel prices and sometimes you’d have to wait around for someone to appear.nnAll in all, happy with it for what I paid. Good for a night away but would probably pick somewhere nicer for an extended trip.
Had a great stay here. All staff were super friendly, helpful and chatty. The bar staff struck up a conversation with everyone they served, and receptionists were great too. The housekeeping staff we met were also really helpful and friendly.nDidn't have breakfast but we did eat in the restaurant a couple of times and the food was brilliant.nThe bed was really comfortable. Room was good but could do with a bit of an update.nMy only negative is that you have to request a visit from housekeeping the night before - which is easy to forget. Fine if you're only staying a couple of nights, but if you're there for a week it can mean things get a bit messy!
The staff were friendly but the hotel was Disgusting. I'm not a fussy man by any stretch of the imagination, but this Hotel was repugnant! The elevators were barely capable of carrying people and their luggage, often forcing people to take the stairs. The ventilation in the rooms was almost nonexistent, with the meagre fan provided being no more effective a reprieve from the swampy heat of the hotel than an asthmatic mouse having a coughing fit in the corner of the room would have been! The carpets were heavily stained and made it hard to tell when/if they had been cleaned. The bare basics such as having carpets to fit the rooms or curtains hung correctly were completely absent. The electrical fittings were lose and not screwed in. The bathrooms stank and had no functional ventilation or fans, primarily because they were clogged with disgusting amounts of what looked to be moldy lint. The idiotic shower had only a single valve that forced it's victim to enduring cycling through the full spectrum of temperature to utilize it Including freezing cold before you could turn it off. The fittings were ancient and often didn't work. The bathroom curtain smelled and was so close to the shower that it was almost impossible to avoid it clinging to you while you're trying to clean yourself......nnGreat staff, but the Hotel owners need to hang their heads in shame at the disgrace their hotel has become.nnWould not recommend!
Booked for accomodation whilst working. Check-in: was OK, no friendly greeting, staff was standing behind computer screen. Perhaps move this lower so you can at least greet guests. Room quite basic, given that I paid £258 for two nights, I was very underwhelmed. Shower over bath is a bit strange in a hotel these days. I did find the hotel to be stiflingly warm. It was only 20C in Glasgow, and with the 100mm limitation on opening the window, you could hardly get any air. The king size bed was actually a twin bed, with wheels and no headboard, just leaning on the wall. Only one chair in the room when there was two of us staying. Some housekeeping issues, but nothing major. Breakfast was basic. I did feel that there weren't enough staff to clear tables fast enough. There could be better options. - for example some simple yogurts rather than an open bowl. For £13 per head, this definitely needs to be Improved. If this hotel was at £70 per night I would have been more lenient, but I definitely wouldn't recommend.
I recently stayed here, it was everything I expected and more. The rooms were clean, staff were very friendly and helpful, and the food was good too.nnThere's a train station no more than 5 minutes away, and the walk to shops isn't far either.nI'll definitely be staying there again.
