Nice place, friendly and helpful staff. Shame it's closing down in September. This has started affecting supplies, stocks being low and re-stocking being slower than normal. Not a smart way of keeping the business profitable while it remains open for another 3 or 4 months!
A great smaller Homebase but with a good range of things. Much of the parking has been used for garden items and storage. Plenty of staff who are fairly helpful. Access to the car park is narrow and users lazy parking very near to the entrance even though there is parking 30 yards further away. This makes it hard for customers to exit.
Closing down soon. Looking a bit tatty inside and outside. Was told they were running down own brand items under their new ownership, likewise they no longer had an Argos section. No longer give Nectar points. Rearranged inside since Argus section closed. Prices seemed at the top end compared with others.
Not their fault, as the store closes on 20th September. Hardly anything left now as they are just trying to clear as much as they can. The staff are great, and very friendly, just not much use for shopping anymore.
Get it while you can. Hardly anything left as closing down very soon. It has been the longest closing down sale in history. I'm not exaggerating when I say it's been at least 6 months.
Dreadful unhelpful service - in November alone I've ordered stuff 4 times and being given a reference number and told it's ready for collection - each time they didn't have it in - the last time they didn't know if they had it in but their warehouse was too full to look for it. It's always been poor - just look along the empty shelves to see how much stock hasn't been replaced and don't expect your lightbulbs to work - the boxes aren't sealed so you'll find some of your bulbs have been replaced with used ones. When I've mentioned this I'm told they'll replace them if I bring them back with a receipt - fine if your happy to spend your life driving to Homebase. I'm also told getting an email to say the stock is in is generic - it doesn't mean it's in.
Shame they closed the Argos - used that a lot. The Homebase store itself is messy, items are often mis-priced and there's never enough folk on the till, so great if you want to queue. Personally, my idea of hell on Earth.
As others have mentioned, this is a small Homebase compared to the norm. Ideal for me as I need a one-stop shop to help deck out my new place. Staff are OK for general questions but other than that I prefer the specialist team at B&Q.
Every time ogo to this store no one seems to have a clue. The stock is low on many items. I reserved an item, received a text saying it was ready to be collected only to be told they had none is stock in the forsf place and to be offered something else. It's a joke. I'll never set foot in there again.
Sold me a circular saw then made we wait 20 min to tell me they don’t have it in stock. Old till system doesn’t know what they do and don’t have in stock. Poorly trained staff and disfunctional store layout. Don’t waste your time drive a bit further to Wickes or Screwfix in Debden.
