Stunning architecture and atmosphere. A quiet space to wander through. Exit through the front and then follow the garden paths to the right that provide a lovely walk through the grounds or the palace.

This was actually my favourite part of our visit to the Holyrood Palace and grounds. The Abbey is a very imposing, atmospheric, and yet remarkably well maintained ruin. I wish we had visited during the summer, when more of the grounds would have been open to the public!

You will visit this as a part of the tour of the palace. It is breathetaking and almost worth the cost of admission itself.
