Hole in the Wall

Story

Pretty much an institution in these parts - and it's stayed pretty much the same for years - this pub is actually quite a large hole in a wall, being situated in railway arches in front of Waterloo Station and has been a watering hole of choice for commuters for many a year. Never a place one would ever describe as spic and span (picture your favourite grotty boozer), and with conversation drowned out by the trains rumbling over head every few minutes, the appeal of the place is not easy to identify. But when you consider it's proximity to the station and the excellent range of beers on the hand pumps, the penny drops. Not a great place for a romantic tte--tte, but a handy one to put right the evils of another day in the office or kill time while waiting for that train.

Great friendly pub. Close to Waterloo station with good selection of real ale. Staff are megga.
For a pub right outside Waterloo prices are amazingly cheap. Also good beer so no compromise on that front. Music is good, sports on the telly if that's your thing. Highly recommended if you want a quick few pints. Not a family or food place at all, but it doesn't pretend to be either.
No frills boozer. Good beer selection
Excellent pub. Great selection of beers and a lively atmosphere. Very reasonably priced pub food. TV screens showing sports. There is a small outdoor area as well. Great pub.
Great genuine old style of pub from the type I used to go to when I was younger. A wonderful find in this area of London. Decent beer. Let's hope it stays around for a long time and doesn't get redeveloped.
Superb pub. Ales are all very well kept, staff don't faff around behind the bar, they serve people quickly and politely. A brilliant venue for the yearly Army Navy rugby match at Twickenham best bacon rolls in London!. The best pub in the Waterloo area.
