Lovely views and good playgrounds. Great cafe with yummy coffee and snacks.
Nice park, with a good playground with friendly people, but the litter is bad especially around the bins, and especially in the summer.
We love it here. It has a playground with sandpit, slide, roundabout and climbing frames. Would be even better if the water pump was turned on though. The blue and white ice cream van that parks near there is fab! There is also a bucket swing and small obstacle course outside the playground and some gym equipment for adults, and a mud kitchen at the back of the cafe. The shade garden and surrounding areas are quiet and wild. Perfect for exploring and bush whacking. The stone circle, tiny orchard and woods feel ancient. There is a lot of wildlife around including woodpeckers, squirrels and wild garlic. There is a problem with litter around here, unfortunately. Eastern Road has a wildflower garden and woodchip walk. Days and days could be and have been spent here.
Pure blue sky green hills every where nice and peaceful and private, no events in the park today. The fresh cool air and the grass was muddy in some parts so you couldn't walk through all of it so walk on the path will get you to the top of the hills that leads to the play areas plus exists to leave the park.
Love this park, there are now flower beds being started on Eastern Road side of the park. This park is very popular and used a lot by the community. It is well maintained and kept clean, volunteers regularly litter pick and dog owners are pretty good at picking up the dog mess. It hosts a park run on Saturday and a junior park run on Sunday.
I love this park so does my dog we did a big walk to come visit. It doesn’t have fence so not good for off lead if you’ve got a dog with bad recall or traffic awareness. A very special place and miss it being our regular place to walk. Easy to access 24hrs a day. Part of the three peaks walk of area. Best ice cream van in town up by the school and playground. The guys been there for 30 years and only 3.50 for a ice cream sundae!
A vast grassland park which relaxes you in an otherwise dense side of London. Definitely my favorite to get some perspective. There's La Delice cafè close by in case one wants to stop for a coffee. The park also has a number of benches which are dedicated to memories of loved ones who have passed away. I like to read the epitaphs mentioned on them. One of the benches, I find particularly interesting and comforting. It's near the Child's Play area, and dedicated to Freddy, who passed away at the tender age of 19. The young spirit is remembered as, "Freddy loved to dance on the Sunny side of Life". Dog-friendliness: Lots of dogs
Appropriately named park as it is hilly and has field like areas. Unfortunately, when I went, it was a bit misty, which spoilt the views, but I could see a little bit, and it looked like you would get good views on a clear day. It has a cafe, pathways, benches, sports area and playground. Quick tip if you are walking there from Ladywell station - following the cycle signs results in a less steep hill.
Great open green area in Brockley, grew both my kids up using the playground facilities. Also used park for running and fitness. Also has tea/coffee shop, toilets. Some great views from the top of park over the area.
So the name is apt, and you should probably add windy to it as an exposed hill. This surprisingly large park is hidden between Lewisham and Brockley surrounded by nice residential areas and even has a school in the middle. The children’s play area is regularly busy but never crowded and next to tennis courts and generally just lovely views. There’s a cafe which is popular expect to queue and has a toilet on the back by the mid kitchen pots, pans, etc. Although hilly, there is a large flat bit at the bottom that regularly gets used for ad-hoc sport. It’s also ace as a run-off area if there’s snow you’ll need it!. Popular for yoga and athletics, it’s a nice place to come. Just bring something to stop the wind.
