Special set price lunch had undisclosed extras like water £3.75 and veg. Not one pea was added to our meal of liver mash and gravy. What makes restaurants think they are so special and charge extra for giving a good service. I don't know any other business that does. Nice place for a lunch but if your on a budget this place is not for you. POSTED THIS REVIEW ON TRIP ADVISOR AND THE OWNER REPLIED BY SAYING OTHER CUSTOMERS WERE DISGUSTED BY THE COMMOTION I CAUSED NOT PAYING THE SERVICE CHARGE. THIS WAS NOT TRUE AS THERE WAS ONLY 2 OTHER DINERS AT LEAST 2 TABLES AWAY AND I WAS VERY DISCREET. HE STATES I WAS TIGHT FISTED BUT HE CERTAINLY GAVE NOTHING AWAY.

Not the biggest choice for vegetarians, but the staff are very friendly and the food is delicious

Today we stumbled upon a little gem, having tried to get a table at our usual restaurant! We took to the road searching for somewhere to eat. We came across the forge where we Received a warm and friendly welcome. The food their today was of excellent quality, yes may have been a bit on the high side, but certainly more enjoyable than some of the cheaper food in the village. Will definitely be going back.👍

Went here for our yearly Xmas time meal with friends. The food was lovely and the forge house itself has allot of charm and character. Was surprised that it wasn't extra busy. But this restaurant now has a new owner who has worked hard and made this a lovely place to dine. I would recommend giving this restaurant a go. I'm sure it will be so popular next Xmas that they won't be able to fit us in!
