Went to a craft fair held at Highbury Hall. Had some nice stalls selling cakes, craft-made chocolate, jewellery. Entry was £1.50 which included a hot drink. Only tea or coffee available. Don’t drink either. Asked the bar staff for an alternative and was grumpily told that I could have tap water. She begrudgingly filled a plastic cup 3/4 full.
This place is peaceful and close to nature, with a playground and lots of wildlife like birds and squirrels by the waterside. It's perfect for jogging, walking your dog, having picnics, and feeding the birds. Plus, there's a free car park. Just keep in mind, there are no toilets available.
One of the best walking paths in Birmingham. Lovely green pathway and quiet park.
We were invited here for afternoon tea by charity I have supported for many years. It was an intetesting building with lots of oak and great windows It also has well maintained front lawn and trees, use the second entrance for limited parking.
Went to a wedding very well organised. Lovely grounds and great catering
We walked here from Cannon Hill Park see review which took about 15mins. This Park is more of a parkland, there aren't flower beds, manicured areas, any children's playground or boating lake. The park is left to let nature take its course so there are nettles/dandelions/brambles in all areas BUT NOT on the paths. The paths are accessible, wide, tidy, no litter or dog mess, bins and a few benches. All the lawned areas have been left to grow long no mow May? But people were still enjoying a picnic. We really enjoyed this park, a complete contrast to Cannon Hill, much quieter and there is a car park. The birdsong was more prominent here too. More woodland areas. We wandered out to the Station pub in Kings Heath before catching the 35 bus back into the city centre. The 50 bus also departs from here about every 10mins! See pics.
2 tours...the official one which only shows a few rooms and discusses Joseph Chamberlain and the family. Hidden tour is more interesting in a way. But go quick....place is shutting Jan 2024 for 2 years of work.
A wonderful park with a nice lake and lovely woods. It's large, quiet and clean. If you wish to relax it's suitable for sitting, walking and get some fresh air. Highly recommended.
The most lovely park in Birmingham for wandering around and watching all aspects of nature. Left to it's own devices it has become almost wild in lockdown but there is obviously some sort of maintenance going on as there are mown areas and access throughout. Many hideaways, historic grandeur and the most extraordinary trees. No public toilets or cafe so you need to work that out and take provisions. Just beautiful.
Another nice place to walk around with kids and dog, just right behind Kings Heath and extension of holders lane park.. A pond and a big field good to round around. There's some construction going on just the back of Highbury Hall.
