Nice woods in the middle of the city. It was good during spring time with flowers in the woods. Avoid this during rainy time as it can get very muddy in the middle of woods. There are some places where wooden board have been laid so it wasn’t that bad even if it was muddy but it’s present only at few places. Pets are welcome. There is limited parking. A good place for a short walk!
Been here many times over the years but came today as part of a nature themed walk. There is a small car park at the main entrance with bike racks just further in the site. Such a beautiful place to visit at any time of the year to be absorbed in the natural beauty. Vast range of trees, plants and birds. There is a map of the site at the entrance to help plan your walk and identify places of interest. You need to wear sensible shoes as sections of the paths are muddy, especially after rainfall. Great place to bring children as it really is a wild playground for them. Those in wheelchairs will find parts of the site difficult to access. No toilets here.
Moseley Bog, the forest with a toddler-tested seal of approval! If you're looking for a quick escape from urban chaos, this little haven offers an hour of blissful respite. But before you set off, remember, finding a parking spot is like a game of forest bingo – be prepared to park off the beaten path and embark on your adventure. Once inside, it's like entering another world. This charming woodland offers a mix of leafy sanctuaries and pint-sized green meadows, perfect for your little explorer to frolic in. The star attractions? Meandering streams that mirror your toddler's zigzagging path, and a mystic swamp that may or may not be home to enchanted creatures. Accessibility is key for parents, and Moseley Bog doesn't disappoint. The well-maintained footpaths are as smooth as a toddler's bedtime story, making it a breeze for buggies to navigate. As you stroll, nature's orchestra serenades you with a symphony of bird songs, a melodious background for your forest adventure. And then there's the 'mushy smell.' That earthy, comforting aroma is the forest's way of giving you a warm, leafy hug. In a nutshell, Moseley Bog is a tiny but enchanting escape where your toddler can explore, splash in puddles, and you can soak in the tranquility of nature. Just hold your little one's hand, follow the footprints, and let the forest work its magic.
Amazing p as park for children of all ages and adults who still want to be youngster's again
It's a few years since I wrote the review below. Since then, lots of slats in the board walks have been replaced. Unfortunately, perhaps as a cost cutting measure, the new slats have large gaps between them. My small dog's feet slipped into them several times, I also felt rather unsteady as I kept on looking down at the gaps. I think a walking stick would slip down them too, so I cannot honestly say it's great for everyone to go for a walk there. I won't be going again as I think a little dog could quite easily injure themsleves on these new boards. I have therefore reduced my review to 3 stars rather than 5. If you don't mind the gaps then this is an earlier review from about 4 years ago. A wonderful prehistoric walk, you expect a pterodactyl to come swooping down at any minute! Parking can be a challenge in the lower car park which is very small but a large car park is available up on the top field. Although there is a wooden walkway running through the bog, nevertheless, wheelchair users would definitely need assistance.
Took toddler with pram here as was told it was accessable. it was as long as you stick to the slated or patched bits. Lots of off road to explore if you have older kids or bringing your dogs. Really peaceful setting great for a mental health walk!!! And to feel relaxed. No benches or facilities however so I took a thermos and some biscuits and drink for the little one. He loved the nature. Tried to include some photos so you can see the paths
Absolutely beautiful, love the walkway , the trail meanders through the bog which is teaming with wildlife. The trees and flora just amazing at anytime of year. So good to come here again after so many years away. Lovely to see kids playing , families wandering and older folk like myself strolling about. This is a hidden gem in Brum. Parking is easy and free.
First time visiting this little gem of a place. It was larger than I expected, and wonderful to wander all the different trails. The bluebells are out in abundance at this time of year, and the lush green woodland and it's creatures are truly worth your time and appreciation
Part of my own Tolkien trail amazing
Great place for a wonder round, especially on a rainy day. Pathways are clear and well marked on the maps. Small car park but there is another larger one nearby. Bring your wellies for a good wonder round!
