Reasonably decent prices but the service was lousy on pickup and return; The office was locked when going to pick up a car at lunchtime so I had to wait until near 14:00 for someone to return. When I went to return the car on a Saturday, I met an elderly Asian mechanic who was locking up the site half an hour earlier than the stated closing time. He was rude, grunted something about me turning up after he'd locked up, took the keys and did no proper sign off of my return.

They called back to cancel an Expedia booking as they didn't have cars available in the class booked! Have never heard that from a Hertz centre anywhere in the world, before. Generally, have always been upgraded to the next higher class, available. So this location is out to set new benchmarks in customer service for Hertz! Getting hold of Expedia for a refund is another saga, altogether. A complete waste of time. Advice - Try other agencies in Reading - would be cheaper and more reliable at the same time.

Hertz has always come out the cheapest option for me when hiring a car. I have always received great service at the Boulton Rd, Reading branch. The only problem I faced once was collecting a car at lunchtime and the office was closed. Thankfully one of the helpful mechanics sorted it all out for me and got me on my way.

Having used their services time and time again, i have had a consistent pleasing experience with Hertz, with a good selection of cars available coupled with proper customer service.
