Really hated the pay meter. Nobody could work out how to use it, there was quite a queue.

This is the main car park in Hawkshead, situated conveniently by one end of Main Street for the shops and places to eat. It is almost flat, tarmac surface and including the additional spaces directly opposite on the other side of the road, has close to 200 spaces. Toilets are available too, beside the disabled parking. There are trees providing shade. For its location prices are reasonable. ANPR cameras monitor the site and compare what you pay with how long you stay. You pay either when leaving at a machine or go online later and use the website. Notices are posted giving clear instructions. The money goes towards supporting the village.

Stupid stupid car park machine. Couldn't get it to accept my credit card and it has no facility for notes
