Harris is one of the most beautiful places I've been to in the world. It is both like all the best bits of Scotland, but also very different from Scotland. More compact and picturesque than Lewis which comprises the northern part of the island, it has jaw dropping beaches and wonderful little villages. There are art and craft galleries everywhere. Views across bays, beaches, towards mountains etc are stunning. Beautiful place. Worth making the effort to go, and worth spending a few days at least in this amazing part of Scotland.
