Small but reasonably well equipped gym that gets very busy in the afternoon but is quite manageable first thing in the morning. Nice swimming pool and pleasant staff. They need to sort out the check in system which is slow and frequently malfunctions. Lately staff have been late to open the building in the morning which is frustrating for people who have a tight schedule e.g. with getting to work. Overall adequate with the potential to be good.
The swiming baths are relatively clean. i like the celing windows makes the room bright and uplifting. i gotta say that changing rooms can be a little rank sometimes but thats the peoples fault... dont shave your bits in the changing stalls and dont pee on the floor. So wear flip flops just incase.
All clean Big minus for me, no hairdryers in changing room. There are dryers in separate room after you leaving changing rooms and they like hand dryers, without tube, where you bend over and then stand on a bridge to dry your wet hair. Styling is impossible here. Ladies changing and shower are on one space with mens. Also what don’t like there’s no training kickboards in pool, so for trainee some elements you need to buy yours, and bring it all the time with you with hairdryer what is uncomfortable. In other pools it’s just in free access. Gym is not big. Not too much machines for the upper muscle group, dumbbells instead. + is that you can book gym and pool for 6-8£ before you will buy membership. Thanks for cleaning
Absolutely love the aqua fit sessions and the swimming facilities. Instructors are very good, in fact excellent. All different styles of delivery but the work out is fierce! Aqua zumba is also great. Wish there were aqua fit sessions at the weekends as well. Great value and lovely reception and fitness staff.
Our child has swimming lessons on a Saturday. Every single week the swimming teacher is late. We pay for a 30min lesson and get a 20min lesson
I have been going to the gym and swimming pool for years. I enjoy going in and always welcomed with a smile, I enjoy talking to staff and members. Love the smiles in the gym and now my son comes with me and loves it because he feels confident in the gym.
Is nice inside, but the system for the parking is just disappointing.Is always full and also the system to checkin is slow is taking a bit.Also toilets are dirty and no toilet paper.
A very friendly gym and good classes. I've been to most gyms in Birmingham and I think that's the best one if you willing to attend different classes in the evening, after work.
I love this gym so much. I always dread going to the gym but as soon as I step foot I’m greeted with a smile and it instantly pumps me up for a good session. I started here last summer and then stopped nothing to do with the gym I just had education in the way but I’m now back full time in the new year and I’ve been building my confidence and it’s so reassuring to have friendly staff there on hand if you need them. There’s also a all round nice environment non judgmental people in the gym I never feel insecure and in fact have been boosted with confidence by other members multiple times. The facilities are always clean and the lockers have a good amount of space. They do offer classes throughout the day as well as swimming in the memberships however I never opt for those personally. All round a great experience every time and recommend this place to everyone whose thinking about joining a gym.
I’ve been going to Harborne Pool since it was the ‘old’ pool and the ‘new’ pool. I have to say that the new centre is beautiful. Always clean, friendly staff. Sue on reception is lovely and the other reception staff. Never had any issues. The company who run the memberships are a pain to deal with they are called Harlands so beware if you get a membership. The only things I would criticise and for not giving a five star review would be; 1. The lack of normal swim time. I don’t want to swim in a queue at lane swimming. There aren’t many slots for adults free swim. 2. Nora who does the aqua fit classes has no empathy. She shouts at people. Singles people out and tells you to kick or hit other people. Plus does not do the exercises with you. Just sits and drinks her smoothie!! These are the only faults I find otherwise I’m happy with the centre and will continue to use.
