the disabled bathroom red pull cord does not reach the floor and is often found tucked behind the very tall mirror on the wall, making it inaccessible. someones life could be the cost of this. do better.
It's extremely busy, people congregating everywhere and you don't know whose in who's in what queue. No seating for disabled as seats are usually taken up by youngsters feigning ignorance with headphones on then they get on ahead of Disabled and take front seats designated for them when the bus is empty. One issue that does need to be addressed is the disappearance of the number 11 bus after 5:15 pm leaving those with jobs that finish later are then left to catch two buses into Fenton. The shop/post office in there on the other hand maybe busy but fast and efficient.
My first time catching a bus in years and what a disappointment the bus was over 40 mins late then the driver was rushing because he was late and refusing to let people on until near the journey then decided to stop at every exit. Then the journey back the bus was late again this time by 15 minutes and the bus seemed like it could barley go as it was stop start stop start then all the older people had to sit upstairs. Safe to say I ill not be catching a bus anytime in a hurry.
I love this place. Its modern and you can get buses to different location around Stoke. The drivers are very friendly too.
It has been a while since I visited Hanley. Nothing has changed. The bus station is cold, despite it being enclosed, the toilets looked like hadn't been cleaned for a while and some of the information screens were also out of service, meaning passengers couldn't tell when the next bus was due. Overall it felt like the bus station is being neglected by the City Council.
Hanley bus station was constructed in the 1970s. The current bus station was built at a cost of £15 million on the site of the John Street car park, across the road from the original bus station. Following two years of construction, it opened on 26 March 2013. The building was designed by Grimshaw Architects and has a curved aluminium-clad roof. The bus station has 22 stances. For many years the appalling state of the bus station has been an issue. Complaints range from anti-social behaviour, lack of toilet facilities, being windy, dirty, depressing, uninviting and intimidating.
Terrible. Bus 25 minutes late after it came in early dropped passengers off at another stand and then parked up . Lots of people waiting so very crowded. Poor service this happens all the time .not everyone could get on the bus and overcrowded. First buses u need sort yourselves out .
ok building. but it blocks your signal making the service apps difficult access at times. there is wi fi... if you can make it work. and the fist services run from here are inconsistent abd do not utilise the buildings features to its full potential
What is there to say? The moment I walked through the entrance, past the homeless man ODing on the bench with his friends stealing everything he had on him and the large crowd of single mothers with their children, of whom none have the same father, I knew I had reached the point of sheer bliss and no other place in the world would live up to my newly set expectations. Do not come to this bus station as once you experience all it has to offer, nothing will compare and the entire world will be dull for the rest of time. Toilets were a bit of a let down tho.
Would be better if the buses left on time instead of the driver turning up at the time to leave and then faffing around before actually letting people on. The post office there is often shut as they can't get people to run the shop and post office meaning many pensioners can't rely on it. The station itself is clean though. Just a bus Station with a shop n toilets.
