We held our wedding/committal service here on 22.02.2022. We had a sit down roast beef, chicken or nut roast dinner for 50 people. The food was perfect, lovely veg selection, crispy roast potatoes, massive yorky's, loads of gravy. Chocolate or carrot cake for dessert, very scrummy and children catered for too. No complaints! Staff friendly and helpful, great service. For us it was the perfect venue and all our guests said how great it was too. We had a wonderful day. Thank you Tom and your team xxx Recommended
Very nice pub; looks great both on the inside and out. Beautifully done inside; the outside beer garden is good - I think a bit more more could be done to make it more ‘costy. Some great beers and friendly service. Will be back for a meal soon!
If you go to the hangleton manor for food I would highly recommend the steak and tanglfoot pie... was absolutely amazing.. deep filed and the pastry is beautiful. Lovely atmosphere Lovely attentive staff Will be returning in the future
This is one of those places that words and images do not do it justice, you must see it to really appreciate its magnificence. Regardless of where inside or outside you decide to dine your eyes have a feast all of their own from the incredible decor to the gardens. Every tiny detail has been well thought out. We were welcomed and served by Maizy who was extremely knowledgeable, attentive and friendly. The service she provided was unbeatable. The food was excellent, have dined here before and gone away craving more. Whatever you order from the menu you will not be disappointed. Deserts are out of this world. The atmosphere was warm and friendly throughout. Highly recommend to everyone.
Lovely old manor house. Burger n pie both excellent, great service, good selection of drinks, review updated Feb 23 :
We rented a space at Hangleton Manor for a celebration of life. The Manor provided the catering, which was high quality and reasonable. We stayed in the room for 8 hours and we were very, very loud. The staff not only tolerated this but were extremely helpful and pleasant throughout. We are very grateful for this and would highly recommend this venue for a private event. We would especially like to thank Donna and Michael who were incredibly helpful and patient with us.
Table of 8 for Sunday lunch at 12:30. Roast was ok but nothing outstanding. Veg was very poorly presented in an oversize bowl. If the waiting staff can serve you without cloths for the plates then the plates are hot enough. Dessert was superb. Staff were friendly and helpful and we had a lovely time as a family. My main complaint is they let a couple in with two dogs into the main restaurant on the table next to us that if not against the law, it should be. except guide dogs of course I can understand dogs being allowed into the pub area and that the owners can eat in the bar but surely not the main restaurant. Wouldn’t have been so bad but the owners had them on their laps and allowed one dog to have its paws on the table and sniffing and licking the table top. I asked the waitress and she said it was allowed. I spoke to the supervisor discreetly and said that at the very least it’s unhygienic. She asked the couple to put them on the floor. I don’t mind dogs in the right place. If this practice is allowed by law or the pub manager, signs should be there to warn you that they allow dogs in the restaurant. Also owners at least be told to keep them under the table. Shame as it’s a great setting.
Fantastic old manor that's now a gastro pub, plus the local rotary club Hove Soiree hold their Easter egg hunt & Halloween event here, both of which are fabulous . Returning to update this review, the place is still brilliant, food is consistently good at an affordable price, and the staff are great, very polite, as well as capable and good in a crisis, like when small children lock themselves in a loo cubicle. Easter Egg Hunt was today, Good Friday 2022, and it was amazing, just like the old days, pre Covid
Thank you so much for a lovely Sunday lunch today. It was my mum's 90th birthday meal. The food was amazing. Great starters, roast beef and chicken roast mains. Yummy sweets and coffee. Service on the day, brilliant. 17 of us and a full restaurant as well. Bit of a hiccup the week before over menu choices, but put right quickly. Tom was great.
Really enjoyable pub when it comes to having a drink but the Sunday roast was a disappointment. The potatoes were old and certainly not freshly cooked. The vegetables arrived just about warm as well as under-seasoned at the table and the Yorkshire pudding tasted stale. The beef was ok but certainly not more. It felt as if we had a left over portion. On top we asked whether there was a chicken roast which the waitress confirmed to us has run out. But before we left the table next to us had a chicken roast. It is a shame because the pub is really lovely but the Sunday roast was a disaster.
