We live just down the road so thought it was high time to test out the nearest Sunday roast aside from my own. We were not disappointed. I was thrilled to see a three meat roast on the menu. It was very tasty overall. I really liked seeing the kitchen at work too.
Came here for friends bday meal , there was around 12 of us. It was very busy. All ordered mixture of food, roasts, fish and chips, Shepard’s pie etc. The service was chaotic , a drinks order took very long to arrive as did some extra cheese. One of the waitresses was excellent seemed to be the only one who knew what she was doing. The other staff forgot stuff when asked . Asked for some cheese three times . Finally asked the good waitress who sorted it. Understand it was busy but service needs improving . Food was tasty and large portions
This has to have been one of the best roasts I've had in years, meat was beautiful and very very filling. Would recommend eating here to anyone
Nice nice size room was at party here at weekend jane the barmaid did a brilliant job keeping up with the demand of the party gusset when asking her if she was getting help she said no think it was such a shame she was left to do a job of 2 people and although she did her best i think the pub missed out on doubing there profits that night! As my group definitely did not drink the amount we would normally drink on a night out !
Bar tender was lovely, dog friendly, pool table outside which was great! Really large, well kept garden with loads of out door seating! Great for large group events/ gatherings and totally enclosed. Plenty of parking. Didn’t have food but they have Smirnoff espresso martinis on draft and seltzers which were great! Would love to go again for the roast on a Sunday. :
Food was basic but have never paid £13.60 for 1 pint of Harvey's 1 white wine spritzer Very dissapointed not my kind of pub.
We had our 25th wedding anniversary here, it was well managed and well staffed. The pub is a great place for a quick pint or a great meal. I can't thank them enough for the letting Us put our party on there.
Popped in on Father’s Day on the off chance they would be able to fit us in. Very accommodating and the food was incredible. Jon and Rob couldn’t have done more. We had an unhurried and great experience. Couldn’t recommend the Sunday roast enough!! I note the comments from the gentleman in Lycra . We were laughing all the way home at the shear arrogance and rudeness of the man.
Arrived, asked if food was being served & if they did GF. Barman gave us menu & started to pull the drinks.....then the chef came out & said there wasn't enough food as they had bookings already. Bad planning, obviously, as whoever heard of not catering for drop-in/walk-in business. And pubs wonder why they go under when planning is so poor UPDATE TO RESPONSE: Considering it was lunchtime when we called in and the pub was very quiet, AND we were given a menu to select food, I stand by 'Poor Planning'. I fully accept if it was full, no tables available, because of Father's Day, that would have been a different matter, OR told no availability when we went in. But, as there were tables free AND and sign outside saying food was being served, one can only deduce, someone didn't plan properly
Had my wedding reception here was great but very very angry and upset because after asking the bar staff on a numerous amount of times to please put our cake in the fridge it wasnt done and today we collected our wedding cake which is actually now destroyed and not eatable now we are very very upset and disappointed before picture and what we collected today
