We live very local to this pub so we thought we’d try it out. The Sunday roast was incredible!!!…and fabulous service. The people in the pub are very friendly. We came again for some pints, wings and chips- yet again the food was delicious! Also love that there is a pool table and had great fun playing. Fantastic pub, food and service overall. Will definitely keep coming back :
The Sunday roast here is ah-may-zing to say the least portion is perfect and the ambience is super relaxing on a Sunday brunch time. Staff are the loveliest and friendliest. Will definitely return and recommend to anyone looking for a good time!!
The greeting and service from the Manager and all of the staff is excellent. I understand that the venue is soon to undergo a refurbishment. The pub has a lovely secluded and partially covered rear garden but for the people watchers of this world retractable blinds outside, at the front of the pub, would encourage people to sit outside the pub and under cover if it's either raining or too hot and sunny.
I had the good fortune to book the Sussex for my mums 90th birthday. It was important for me to get it right and this place did not disappoint! Mike the landlord and his team were wonderful, supplying lovely sandwiches and happy to help at all times. There was no pressure to finish-up, which was nice as some people had come a long way and were keen to catch-up properly. The relaxed atmosphere was great...and a good time had by all! Thank you for making the day such a memorable one!
Lovely, friendly place to relax and enjoy the social interaction with other happy customers. Free Bingo on Sunday evenings is fun and is a regular event that a lot of people enjoy. The food was very good and the menu was varied and comprehensive. Will definitely patronise the Sussex again!
I attended a wake for a close family member here and they were extremely accommodating for us. They set up a screen for us to share photos of him with music in the background, let us set up our own buffet of food and reserved tables for us all to sit on. They were so kind, polite and understanding of everything and it was a lovely wake. Can’t recommend enough :
Was here to see Iron Tyger. A brilliant band. The pub is very spacious, with having a section each side of the bar. One side has a lovely fire, but never been that side in cold weather & if it's been used. A lovely outside area too
Had a lovly steak meal ,its a great place with a fantastic outdoor space
Friendly staff and fairly cheap pints. The place is a bit dates though, it needs some colour injected in it and some maintenance in the garden. Heaters don't work outside. However good place and would probably return
Was served by Jordan, he was very friendly, helpful, and well dressed. Had the cow and chic burger, it was so good! Highly recommended if you’re look for food. Atmosphere was great too
