What a great place. 2nd time we have visited now and couldn't recommend it enough. The location is great if you into walking and hiking but you also have enough space inside and the field next to the house to keep the kids entertained. Pool table and ping pong table was a great hit with the kids and the large kitchen area is also great for a big family gathering. Rooms: Rooms are basic as in there bunk beds but the mattresses are comfy enough there's a few that sleep 8 and a few rooms of 4 and a couple of 2s. One of the rooms is called the leaders room what has its own toilet and small kitchen. Walkability: Good access to lots of local routes. There's also some maps on the notice board so you can see a few routes from the bunk barn. Food & drinks: The local pub the queen's Arms serves probably some of the best pies I have ever had. The pies also have won awards so if your nearby I would definitely pay them a visit. Great country pub with open fire in the nain bar and a stove in the other dining area. Good selection on the menu and a good selection of local ales.
Beautiful surroundings!! Place is exactly what you expect from a bunk barn. Had pool table, table tennis, football nets and balls with a large grass area to use. There is a sauna and the kitchen is clean.
This place was magic with rivers and mountains to climb it was perfect for the three of us as went to rest up and have some time out we had the Poole table that the only downside to it is that I can’t play for my life, to clamber up the hills, you can go to the pub down the road or make nice meals and sitting in sun rays and the rain pour warm in the sauna and then cosy up it was like have our own little countryside life! Thank you it was just what I needed. Highly recommended for a little family or friends get away.

Excellent bunk facilities located in beautiful area of the UK. Kitchen area is spacious and well equipped. Dinning room is more than adequate. Lounge is bit smaller but fitted 40 people on plastic chairs. Bedrooms Rooms are spacious and reasonable bunks. Some have toilet attached but for rest it reasonable communal bathrooms. Entrance has table football. Good off road parking. Great field for ball games. Place could do with a few arm chairs and sofas for easy sitting. All in all good facilities.

Great place but. Looks like there is a rolling replacement of the mattresses. New ones have hard board between the mattress and the bed springs. this makes in incredible amount of noise every time you move and disrupts sleep, If the mattresses are worn out, its because they have had a lot of use and made money. Just replace them like for like.
Bunk house accommodation for large groups. Dining room with good self catering facilities and another communal room. Bunk rooms are very basic and you need to bring your own bedding some provided but better with your own. Basic communal toilet and shower facilities. Well suited to outdoor activity groups. A good couple of miles from the nearest pub.
29 of us spent the weekend here. Anthea has been very helpful and understanding especially around the whole covid situation. We were originally booked for 2020 but had to change to 2021. We had an amazing weekend and this is the best stocked bunkhouse in terms of cutlery and kitchen equipment we have been to. Anthea popped in as she was in the area and was very pleasant to talk to. The sauna was amazing to use too! Just make sure you screenshot the instructions and the WiFi code as there is no mobile signal within about 20 mins drive of the bunkhouse. Quiet area and lovely views
In a cracking location and just great facilities round the back of penegent in a quiet spot even on a bank holiday, clean a d comfortable accommodation , cant recommend this place enough
