Took an electric scooter back to the shop within one week of purchase for a Christmas present. Lacked bolts to secure the handle bars and brakes faulty. My grandson had ridden it a couple of times only but could have had a nasty accident. No notification to let me know it was ready for collection and could not get through via phone call. So I called in. It was 'ready'. On closer inspection - the bolts were still missing very Important components and the stem had too much movement. These had been missed! Forunately a very good assistant Courtenay completed the repairs that should have been done there and then, after pointing out the areas that had been missed. She was polite and very helpful. Thank you Courtenay! I have rather lost faith in Halfords and their products. From an ex-mystery shopper!
Ordered car battery online from Southend store. Quickly confirmed. Apart from a short wait for the staff member who was with another customer the fitter Luke was courteous and speedy. Worth paying the £18 for fitting.
Another fantastic experience at Halfords Westcliff on Sea. Paul went above and beyond yet again to ensure a totally satisfactory service for my wife’s car. I have had several dash cams fitted in multiple driving instructors cars and Paul always comes up trumps for me. I will continue to use his services each time I change cars or cameras. Thanks Jerry.
Went in today to enquire about having some spokes replaced on a bicycle wheel. The guy Ryan behind the counter was carrying out a service on a bicycle and made me wait until he had finished the complete service before finding out what I wanted. Then when he did finally serve me he only could give a time during my working hours to pick up my wheel. Wasted 30 minutes of my time for this poor customer service. I will be going to a proper bike shop from now on.
1 experienced member of staff saved the day! Girl on the till sweetened my purchase saving me 25% by signing me up to motor club. Apart from staff shortages and some lack of product knowledge...all good disappointment quelled by customer care?!?! Point to improve - sell all the tools that you use to service and repair bikes. Ordering on line is a pain. Put it on the shelf! Thanks! John E.
Useless, arrived looking for help, information and advice about a wheel clamp/lock for my motorhome. The member of staff just showed me where they were. Seemed disinterested when I had pictures of my wheels with tyre info etc to show him. Just told me "look online" It was 8:00am, just as the store was opening. I had a busy day so had to get there early. Noticed they had just had a delivery driver show up with their morning coffees. Maybe he was anxious to get back to that before it got cold. I Wanted the more expensive Bulldog brand one, but didn't want to risk it not fitting my vehicle. Anyway, I bought their cheapest one guessing it may not fit It didn't. It was only £30, Will not bother returning it. Nothing ventured, nothing gained, but will not be returning to this store.
The in store help pads that help you find the correct items for your car are faulty and keep jumping back to the start meaning you have to keep starting over. There’s no staff help and they seem to avoid customer interaction unless you’re about to part with your money at the till. There’s a bin just outside the front door that’s overflowing and been like it for over two weeks! If I was the manager and it wasn’t even Halfords responsibility to empty I would still of done something about as it’s at the front of the store!! The store just oozes laziness. But the cycle department is pretty good I’ve even bought a couple of bikes from there… See pictures for stores laziness

Just popped down to my local halfords auto center in Southend-On-Sea as my review mirror had dropped off the wind screen on my ford fiesta and asked them if they could reattach it as my wife refuses to drive it without it. Quite a simple job I thought just to glue the mirror back on .But no they said no sorry mate can't do that one. What's all that about
Went to the Rayleigh store and they said we would have to go back to the Southend store and was not willing to help us even though we had a Halfords care package! Sara at the westcliff store as per usual was extremely helpful and very efficient
