My wife scheduled an appointment for the air conditioning to be diagnosed. Initially, she was told to leave the car a day prior. However, upon her arrival to drop off the car, she was informed that the appointment was canceled due to a faulty diagnostic machine. There was no prior notification via message or email, only a claim that they had called her, though she wasn't aware of the timing of this call. A message or email would have been a more reliable form of communication. She rescheduled it for the following week and dropped off the car as instructed. Today, as she prepared to get the car by bus, she received another message stating that the machine was still out of order. This is the second time her plans have been disrupted, and valuable time wasted due to transportation logistics. I called Halford from abroad seeking clarity on the situation. The person on the phone was extremely rude, repeatedly stating in a robotic manner that the machine was out of order with no indication of when it would be fixed. When I asked how this could happen twice in two weeks, he had no satisfactory response. I had to ask him to lower his tone and empathize with my wife's situation, waist of time especially at the weekend. This level of service is unacceptable, and my wife is extremely frustrated by it.
So happy with the experience, the two guys on the front desk were so happy and helpful. Definitely going back for all my car care. Thanks guys
Trustworthy and professional. I've been using Halfords Crawley for +5 years now, and it's safe to say this is a garage that you can trust. In this day and age, there are a lot of cowboy garages, but it's nice knowing this place won't rip you off or do unnecessary work. I think being a part of Halfords would help any garage stay in check, but it's definitely a brand you can trust. On top of that, the staff are always friendly and professional even get called "sir" which is a nice touch. I think the pricing is very fair, of course it won't be the cheapest like start up garages, but I think for that little bit extra, you can have piece of mind. Highly recommend!
So many people get snobby when it comes to garages stating you have to go to a local independent or a main dealer to get a good service and avoid national chains. But this is not the case with Halfords Autocentre, Crawley. Darren and Josh are absolutely brilliant and really know their stuff. They have almost instant availability unlike an independent garage where you can be waiting for weeks and the quality of the work they carry out is excellent. Unlike just about every other garage I have dealt with, they actually call you with updates and maintain communication throughout. Highly recommended!
We pay for a halfords care plan on the car. Apprently, customer services don't talk to the garages and lits of hidden charges, and to be fair, some arrogance about this too. I'm probably going to cancel the plan and shall ensure I look elsewhere for help in the future. ....
Today I went to service my brakes, my wheels have not been off the car since visiting the auto centre which I appreciate was a few months ago now but the wheels have been done up so tight with an air Gun including the locking wheel nut which won’t even fit properly now! That you can’t even get the locking wheel nut off as it has been rounded off prior to even trying to use the locking wheel nut today. They will now need to be cut off, which is now an added expense which I was not expecting to have to pay for. Luckily no one who has driven the car has incurred a puncture and been stuck on the side of the road because you are unable to use the locking wheel nut to get the wheel off because of this. Which 99% I have my 9 year old daughter in the car as well. Very disappointed!
Ordered 4 tyres through Halfords website with collection at this branch. Attended appointment to be told tyres hadn’t arrived. Halfords called Customer Service to be informed that the tyres I had ordered and paid for were no longer stocked and the website shouldn’t have allowed me to place the order. Registered complaint with Customer Services who admitted the website shouldn’t have allowed me to order these tyres and as a resolution offered 4 alternative tyres at the same price I had already paid. Went to new appointment to collect tyres and garage refused to give me the tyres as they believed the price I had paid was an error. Customer Services had already admitted the price was an error and that it was their mistake and they would honour the amount paid for the new tyres yet garage still refused to hand over the tyres to me. Registered further complaint and eventually was provided with the tyres. Essentially, the garage wouldn’t provide the tyres even though Customer Services ordered them to and I had to raise a second complaint to get this finally resolved. Will not use this garage again.Service: Tires
I scheduled an MOT, service, and repair at Halfords. My MOT failed due to emissions. Although surprised, I agreed to a £50 diagnostic. They claimed my Turbo was broken and quoted me an astonishing £1300 for its replacement. When I expressed doubt, the evidence provided was anecdotal: one mechanic said he had the same motor and could "just tell" mine wasn't right. Skeptical and seeking alternatives for the emission problem, I was met with a blunt 'no'. I decided to forgo their services and, with just a bottle of Redex and some highway driving at high RPM, I resolved the emissions issue myself. Additionally, upon seeking a second opinion, I found out that their suggested repairs, costing upwards of £3000, weren't immediately necessary. I saved more than the value of my car by avoiding unnecessary repairs from Halfords. They've lost my trust and business indefinitely.
Used the garage because they deal with warranty claims . Office staff were great , polite . Unfortunately unable to resolve an overheating problem , told to try another garage . Will update review depending on current start up trouble . Update : couldn't get a starter motor , so sent me away again with no fix . Won't be using again . My advice , stay away from them .
Booked wheel tracking and got a phone call 10 minutes before to say the equipment wasn't working and my appt was cancelled. No offer to reschedule and very short notice. Very poor customer service. Not impressed.
