booked a massage in this spa and paid 50% in advance. Reason was that my hotel next door was booked for massages that day. What a terrible mistake. First the access through a back alley is less than charming but I gave that a pass. The lady at the front, manager was initially nice and courteous. We accessed the facility and that's when my expectations were met with the crude reality of one of the worse spa places I have ever been in the world associated to a 5 star hotel like the Astoria Lockers were tiny and the changing room small and unkept. Sauna and steam with used towels and towels in the floor. Little kids running around those facilities including one taking classes at the pool. The sauna and steam were coed which wasn't disclosed anywhere prior to entering the facility Basically I decided not to wait for my massage and cancel. I was charged the full amount by the same manager who this time was not as nice. She was also describing that as per their policy they had to charge me in full for a non provided service I communicated my frustration to the Astoria hotel manager on call at the front desk at around 530pm on January 25. She promised someone would get back to me. Nobody did In essence, avoid. Use the sheraton next door. Much more professional and an incredible swimming pool. No towels in the floor and no children running around. Lesson learned.

Terrible!! Very Small Steam Room!! Plus, the sauna was out of order during our visit, and the steam room smelled like mildew!! The tile floor was so slippery & wet from pool users we both near slipped and fell!! The only thing provided was a robe and flip flops. Terrible locker/shower room amenities! You have to walk upstairs in a robe to the treatment rooms where other guests can see you! I felt SO uncomfortable!! It was not relaxing at all!! Only to be disappointed again in the treatment and "relaxation room"!! It was just a really BAD experience!! Don't waste your vacation time and dollars here like we did :( Oh, and after I sent the manager my thoughts via email and not complaining at the spa in front of everyone! she finally emailed me back wanting details, which i sent her, and now its been over a month since she has addressed these issues! Just terrible customer service to boot! UGH! Frustrated!!
