I really love this place and I try and go when it's quiet. Greenway is always more quiet than the reservoir walk. You can spend so much time exploring, so many things to see and the wildlife is amazing. Restrooms: Clean toilets
We are always walking here. Fab walk with some flat areas and some up hill. The walk goes around the reservoir and can get alittle muddy this time of year so I recommend wellies or boots! A nice place to feed the ducks or spot some squirrels.
The bathroom closes at 4 and the caffee does not open late. Check the times before going. The waterfall is way more accessible by the resevoir. It is beautyfull but plan properly. Lacks maps of the place around or on a website. You should go anyway.
One of the hidden gems of the Potteries, a great place to unwind and walk among the trees, chill and listen to the sound of the birds, take in some lovely views of the of Knypersley reservoir, relax and maybe even have a picnic. But saying that, there is a cafe by the carpark if you time it right. The walk all the way around is approximately 8.75 miles in length and includes some inclines/declines, stiles, steps and uneven terrain, plus some parts may be a bit muddy after rain but you well feel better for it. If you decide to visit, then I strongly recommend you don't attempt to go all the way around if you are in poor health, wheelchair user, or even have a child's buggy with you, because you will find it very challenging. This area covers around 114 acres and once was all part of the Knypersley Estate, with a grand Hall that is now demolished and once had the notable Sir William Bowyer MP residing there for part of its history, which is another story..... This land also includes Serpentine Lake, Knypersley reservoir, some really nice quite woodland walks, a Children's play area and a visitor centre, with toilets. Lovely place to visit on a nice day, when you've got time to kill
Lovely for a walk with some interesting features to see
Lovely place to visit a little hilly in parts small playing park for children tea and coffee available with snacks toilets open gortens well and two cascades to see no swimming or boating of any sort allowed .
Lovely walk through native woodland and around reservoir. Path to waterfall and an old well. Slippery underfoot and some steep parts, so boots recommended. Only have a van for drinks and cakes due to Covid restrictions. Toilets are open until 4pm.
Beautiful place to visit. We regularly walk our dogs around the reservoir but I have never been to the "upper" part, where I found a nice play park for my 2 young children. They had a whale of a time on the lovely apparatus, that is all in good condition, well maintained, and very different from the usual park equipment! There are a handful of picnic benches in the park and a few scattered around the outside too. The park was very tranquil and when we were the only family in there we saw several squirrels and many birds! We walked down to the reservoir after a couple of hours in the park, having never walked that particular route it was nice to see the little woods and a small interesting cave that entertained the children! There were also toilets available by the park as well! Very handy! I think there is a cafe as I saw signs, but it wasn't open when we went on a Saturday afternoon.
Awesome place!! A great place to spend the day anytime of the year..lush woodlands , lakes and paths to explore.. kids will love it
We parked on the car park and followed the signs for the watch tower and the waterfall, beautiful scenery and wildlife. Great walk for all the family.
