We spent 4 days here just before Halloween this year. We found it to be a lovely site, nicely spaced out where our caravan was sited. The van was nice and clean, the only minus was that when it rained it didn't seem to drain well from the roads leaving everywhere quite muddy. Loved the amusement and entertainment areas, and the staff were great with the children. Bingo was good, the staff worked hard but were shattered, I think as it was the end of the season.Food and shop were fine and the lady in the cafe was very friendly and polite. Would definitely go back again.
My family and I recently stayed at Grange Leisure Park in Grange Lodge 4, a lovely 4 bedroom lodge with a hot tub. The lodge was very clean and staff very friendly. The only downside would be in the bar and restaurant we feel the food supplier should be changed as the cheese on pretty much everything was certainly odd flavoured and not nice at all. Also you have a serving fee of £3 each time. The park is nice and tidy and also quiet and helpful staff.
Lovely clean grounds. However lodge smelt very musky when we arrived and wasn't as clean as some I have stayed in. We were staying in an 8 berth lodge but they only had a sofa for four people? In the leaflet pack we received when checking in, they advertised entertainment however this room was locked the whole time we stayed which was very disappointing. I understand it's out of season but do not advertise it in the welcome pack and reception. We purposely booked out of season to have a adult break. Also they took out the £50 deposit when really it should be a holding charge surely? Now we have to wait for it to be refunded.. Staff were pretty useless at times. No one really manning or maintaining the arcade machines. They were running on minimum staff which is really unfair on your guests and staff. Only positive is the food in the restaurant was good value for money.
Huge site now, but when completed, they will have built an absolute Monster of a site with all the entertainment down near the entrance if you're lucky enough to live on the new part of the park and fancied a couple of pints, it will take roughly half an hour to walk to the entertainment venues. There is around 6 lakes dotted around the site and although the water level is low there is still around 5' of water.
Had to give one star to review wouldn’t go here again. Fishing was very poor fish in members lake we’re diseased, had to disinfect all my tackle. Welcome pack said that there was entertainment each night not true for four nights out of seven arcade and bar closed at nine, and food was poor. On there website everything looks good but in reality staff are unhelpful.
WOW WOW WOW!!! What can I say about this place other than WOW! The holiday park is amazing with loads to do, the fishing lakes look awesome Arcades were fun for the kids The inflatable water park was awesome! There was so much to do and everybody was friendly, the caravans were amazing quality and really good value The only thing missing is a swimming pool in my opinion but that's just me Will be coming back next year
Platinum Lodge, 4 night stay - August 2022: Positives: - Lovely new, spacious and clean lodges. Roomy outside space and a good distance between each lodge. - The aqua assault course was a hit with my family. - The show bar wasn't too busy and we always got a table on an evening, the shows were good too. - The amusements have lots of games and slot machines and they weren't too busy. - Unexpected: Tea and coffee, milk, fruit bread and jam on arrival with washing up sponge, liquid & tea towel. Negatives: - Unreliable wifi connection - messing around calling the external company to get the wifi set up, the are only open 9.30 - 5pm so if you need wifi out of these times you are stuck. Wifi should be included with the Platinum Lodge, we had wifi for 50% of our holiday due to poor connection issues. - The stench of sewage on the approach to Badgers retreat, luckily not near our lodge but we felt sorry for the dozen or so families whose lodges/static caravans resided in the bog of eternal stench - they wouldn't have been able to sit outside it was that bad. THE BED - Putting a cheap metal camping bed over a wooden base is not good enough for a Platinum Lodge, it does not do it justice! You could feel every spring on the cheap mattress too. You lost a star rating just due to the horrible bed & pillows! and the disrupted nights sleep we both had each night. Any time your partner moves or turns over the other person is launched around the flimsy bed and woken up! THE PILLOWS: Cheap pillows only 1 each and no spares were uncomfortable due to them being repeatedly washed so the inner foam has balled up into tight, lumpy clumps! Every single one was like this so BRING YOUR OWN PILLOWS. There are only winter duvets on the beds and no other spare bedding. This made sleeping on warm/hot summer nights difficult for the whole family. Needed: Bed upgrade, better quality pillows & a couple of spares a summer duvet option, hook in en-suite by the shower so you don't have to put your robe/towel on the toilet. A fan for hot nights would be good too. *Waste of time: Why set out the 3 course meal plates, side plates, glasses and cutlery all on the table We used some of it from the table, it then looked messy so I had to put all away Don't think we'd go back.
Me, my partner and children stayed here for a week on Lakeside view. Everything was perfect except for three women and their partners on the opposite side of the lake, it seemed they pretty much reside here for the majority of the year / season. They sat by the lake each day constantly slating other park users, management and staff, complaining about children playing games / ball, making noise and just being kids basically. They were mentioning all the complaints they had put in about others to management and basically sit curtain twitching from their caravans waiting for anyone to breath so they could put a complaint in. This is supposed to be a family park. The general manager here is also quite snotty and not much of a people person, very short in his tone and seems an effort to even speak to you.
Accommodation was 8 berth gold caravan, dog friendly. The bedrooms were clean and tidy and mattresses were spotless, as were the toilets and bathroom. The kitchen was fully stocked with utensils, pans, crockery and cutlery. Only downside were the state of the sofa and dining chairs. They were heavily stained and grubby and could do with a deep steam-cleaning. Food in the Badger's Barn has seriously gone downhill since my last visit; we had meals 2 different nights and I wouldn't have fed any of them to my dog. Overcooked and over-priced for the meals. This is just a shame from where this site was a couple of years ago
Had to purchase water hose and grey waste pipe because facilities on opposite side of vans approx 6m from pump and waste water outlets.Club House entertainment ok and reasonably priced.
