They call it bar food, which we did just prior to going to a musical nearby. We didn’t want to do the full restaurant experience. Impeccable service. Great atmosphere. Really beautiful food. Highly recommended.Food: 5/5
Initially had a couple of cocktails next door in the wild monkey bar and it was so lovely to come to Good Godfrey’s as it was much more relaxing and the service was excellent. We had visited before and sadly the cocktail menu had changed and as we were reminiscing about one particular cocktail Grace said that they could try and recreate it. Such excellent service and also very knowledgeable about the cocktails and whiskies. Everyone was very friendly and observant, refilling water glasses and just so different to the vibe next door. Very excited to hear about changes to the cocktail menu so will be back to see what’s next. Great cocktails - great atmosphere and excellent service.
Been in today. The bar to the right of the entrance. Wanted to go up the Shard but coach delay meant didn’t have enough time. Hence the Waldorf. The coach had dropped me off there. Never been before. Ordered cocktail and chicken burger and chips from lunch menu. Was by myself. Male waiter was helpful and lovely. Got a nice cocktail from the cocktail waitress. Food arrived and looked great. Wasn’t sure about getting Heinz mini mayo and ketchup jars in a place like this !! Any way asked waitress for some vinegar for chips. Started on the burger. Buttermilk chicken !! It was a miserly gristly chicken thigh or something coated in some kind of breadcrumbs with lots of salad and sauce etc. left nearly all of it. Never got the vinegar so left most of the chips as well. I would never have ordered a chicken thigh burger. Very disappointed. Waitress said she’d forgot about the vinegar and she’d tell the chef about the chicken burger.
Last night's visit to Good Godfrey's was disappointing. At previous visits there was a lovely chilled vibe with soft jazz playing, however yesterday there was trashy pop playing very loudly, to the point that it was hard to have a conversation across the table. Whilst our waiter was friendly, the bar manager on shift was not and didn't appear to treat the staff very well. My husband and I were playing an innocent game of cards at our table, but was told that it was a 4* hotel and as such we couldn't play cards as we needed to be sympathetic to the kind of venue we're in and it's clientel. We were told that if we wanted to play cards we had to do so in the lobby rather than in the bar. Our bill came to £31 for 2 cocktails from the new menu, both were not that great so we paid our bill and left. Don't think we'll be back! Not sure what Good Godfrey's is trying to be, but it's a shame it has lost the authenticity and charm that it once had.
Scammed in here by the staff. Ordered a cocktail with partner, told they didn’t have it and suggested I order an alternative so went for a whisky sour. Paid at the end without looking at the bill my mistake saw it cost £90 for 2 drinks each. They’d included the cocktail on the menu they didn’t have and charged me more for the replacement. Told them and asked for a refund. They then behaved like a BT sport telesales staffer and used a combo of passing me to different. Staff blaming refund codes for not being able to give me a refund. Took my details and said it would be paid the next day. It wasn’t. Pathetic and shoddy.
Wonderful pre-theatre venue ... Great food and cocktails, service with a smile and relaxed ambience. Enjoyed chunky chips, popcorn chicken, salsa crostinis, salt and pepper squid. Bit on the expensive side but definitely recommend if going for a show on the Strand or Aldwych.Food: 5/5

Just been there for some drinks before dining at Homageplanned . There were a few dirty tables so I wasn't allowed to sit to my chosen table. I patiently waited staff to finish serving drinks and cleaning the table. After taking a seat, I had to wait just about half an hour +-5 mins for my order to be taken. Ordered a glass of wine did not mention the size and given 175ml but charged for the large glass £18 including service charge. I did not protest, paid and left. No goodbye or thank you from the staff. Decided not to dine at Homage overall and left. I 'm a Diamond member of Hhonors and stayed at Waldorf in the past. I had great meals at Homage, including many wonderful afternoon tea experiences. It is very upsetting to see the level of service went downhill since my last visit. I wouldn't be back...
I am assuming that some of these reviews about service are dating back to when we were reopening after COVID and everyone was struggling to figure out our new world. My experience was very good, I was staying in the hotel and popped in for a drink and an appie and had a delightful time. Staff was busy large event at the hotel also but dining in a wood paneled room looking out on London? Yes, please. Flatbread was lovely and the drinks are well crafted.
Great selection of cocktails. I was indeed impressed and will return. Jay and Alexander are very knowledgeable and helpful!
