Kettner's

About

An all day Brasserie, Cocktail and Champagne Bar and 8 Private Dining Rooms in the heart of vibrant Soho.

Story

Kettner’s has lived, surviving four kings and a queen, the blitz, several booms and more than a few busts, Kettner’s has seen it all and is an integral part of the vibrant, glamorous and debauched Soho we know and love today.

Originally a series of four Georgian town houses, Kettner’s was first opened as a restaurant by Auguste Kettner, (chef to Napoleon III) in 1867. Popular with deliciously colourful characters of the time including Oscar Wilde, Edward VII, Lillie Langtry, Agatha Christie and Bing Crosby, Kettner’s was renowned for hosting incredibly risqué parties.

Gorgeously glamorous, Kettner’s today boasts an all day Brasserie, Cocktail and Champagne Bar and eight Private Rooms. The Grade II listed building retains much of the original architecture, creating an intimate, homely feel, whilst a recent refurbishment has lovingly restored the space for a modern audience.

Kettner’s elegant 1930’s style Brasserie serves Modern European dishes all day with a range of menus to suit all occasions. Kettner’s is situated in the heart of theatre land and the Set Menu is the perfect choice at lunch and for pre and post theatre dining. Live music from Tuesday to Saturday on a beautiful white grand piano sets the evening ambience.

The Cocktail and Champagne Bar has an innovative cocktail menu inspired by the characters and legends of Kettner’s scandalous past. There is also a huge a range of over one hundred champagnes, with eleven served by the glass. The bar has two bookable ‘nooks’ for small groups; the Blue Nook and the Skylight Nook.

Amongst Kettner’s eight private spaces are the two showcase spaces; The Apartment and The Salle De Fête. The Apartment has a members club feel with a secret entrance on Greek Street. The space draws inspiration from a French film director’s lair, with wooden panelled walls, comfy ‘casting’ couches, a bespoke drinks cabinet and a grand piano. The Salle De Fête has an elegant, light and airy penthouse feel and comprises three open spaces; The Salle, The Attic Bar and The Den. Kettner’s also has a variety of smaller rooms which are perfect for meetings and private dining.

Don your finest, (or your favourite old cardigan,) and drink, dine and revel with us at Kettner’s.

The ambiance was really nice especially as there was lovely live piano music in the background. The food was also excellent and so was the service. Would recommend for the food the service and the quality!
Lovely place! Delicious Tea and reasonably priced 30£ per person. It was a lot of food. Hotel rooms are cute and details are brilliant. A night is expensive though and rooms and hallways narrow. Cozy place with very helpful and polite staff!
Enjoyed the bar and atmosphere at Kettners. Note that there is a "club" area and an area for others. The staff were very friendly and invited us to sit in the club area but it was not as intimate as the non club area. Great bartenders who know what they are doing. Wonderful setting.
Absolutely charming bar, hotel and restaurant. Our favourite place to unwind after a long day or to start our weekend. Great atmosphere and service, reasonably priced wine in a relaxed and upmarket setting. We just love enjoying the wines on.offer whilst listening to their live piano.
Group of friends having a meet up lunch all good
No social distancing being observed here. Tables packed in together. Groups of people from different households. Very disappointing from Soho House!
Stopped by the champagne bar here with my family while in London, and I really enjoyed the place. The atmosphere was really nice, as it had a very moody ambiance. The cocktails were great, and they had a good selection of specialty ones.
