The best chinese in haselmere

I've been going to the Good Earth with friends for meals and on my own for takeaway, on and off, for more years than I can remember, but certainly more than 20. The food has always been very tasty and has remained at a high standard in all that time. If all else is changing around you, rest assured that a takeaway of your favourite dish will taste the same as you remember it the next time you go back, even if that is months or years afterwards. I think that's the hallmark of a good local Chinese restaurant; well cooked flavoursome food that doesn't vary wildly in quality from month to month. I've even managed to tempt my wife with their Szechuan Chicken and Singapore fried rice noodles, which is pretty good going as she doesn't normally eat Chinese takeaway. To complement the food the service is always cheerful even if you're just ordering a small takeaway. The decor is bright and contemporary, no half-lit gloomy old faux Chinese decor here, and there is plenty of room around each table so you're pretty sure not to be jostled by others as they come and go from their own meals. One slight detractor is that there is very little parking directly outside. However there is a large local car park a few minutes up the road and, if you can find it, parking g across the street if you're just popping in to collect your takeaway.

I have to be very honest, Good Earth should be called Incredible Earth as my taste buds just imploded (in the best way one can imagine!). First of all, the man that greeted us at the welcoming doorstep had an immaculate smile that robbed me of any doubt that I was at the wrong place. My heart rose as he lead me round the tastefully prepared chairs and a copy of The Daily Telegraph beckoned me but I declined as I realized my focus was drifting. The sweet odor of the ancient, traditional spices brought me all the way back to the lovely place away from the Telegraph. The man spoke "£21.21." He spoke softly and tenderly. I nodded at this proposal. Such a small price for taste so gigantic. With a swipe of my card I had bound myself in a contract to a future of Good Earth. I struck a question to the lovely man as the bag was being prepared. "Say, my friend," I said "Am I still on Earth?" He gave a comforting nod and said "Earth is good my child, you are on Good Earth." Oh, how I miss him now as I was whisked away by hunger as he handed my son the bag. "Your job!" He said to my son. "Carry this food for your master. It is the honourable thing to do." With a bow we walked out the beautiful shop. IT WAS TIME FOR LIFE CHANGING EXPERIENCES. we ate the food. it was nice. hence 5 stars. please find my reaction and my sons to the food in photos. satisfied with service. decent food

Went for my sisters 17th birthday and waited for an hour for one starter dish which was not what we ordered, we ended up leaving. Think they need to decide if they are a takeaway or a restaurant.
