Absolutely great place to stay, it is a quick walk to most of everything, if you do the cliff walk it is even on the way back down. The host was amazing, went out of his way to take me to the rail station. Breakfast was very nice.Rooms: 5/5
This place was great and authentic! The host goes well out of his way to be delightful and makes a very yummy breakfast Also, the location was really good and I could walk everywhere.Rooms: 5/5
I remember my stay at the guesthouse very warmly. The host is very friendly, nice and open. I felt as if I had come to my grandfather's vacation in the countryside. The best Irish breakfast. The room was small, but warm and comfortablemaybe only some clothes rack or extra chair would be useful. I saw a few cobwebs on the ceiling, but it did not impinge on my assessment of the stay. The stay met my expectations and I will definitely return there! Yes, it is true that it is not luxurious, and the rooms are not like a typical hotel. This is not a place for snobs. If you are looking for a homely atmosphere, interesting conversations and want to feel like an Irishman for a while, this is the place for you. It's more of an experience than a simple overnight stay. Nearby activities: Very close to Howth trail
Loved this quaint little b&B. The hosts were very nice. The Irish breakfast was spot on, delicious. It's in a great location. I've read some of the posts that are negative and they are just wrong! Those who gave the great b&b have obviously never stayed in a b&b. It's not the Ritz Carlton. We love quint places like this and even changed our plans to stay our last night back here.
Great place to stay. Homely welcome, lovely atmosphere and ultra friendly host. Catherine is a breath of fresh air in this otherwise business like world. Fabulous breakfast, lovely coffee and they even gave an ageing stick user like me lifts all around Howth! What a pair. Needless to say, One of the main attractions for us was the beloved Captain, their Border Collie who is super lovable. We'll definitely return. Thanks a million guys. P. Rooms: Nice, warm relaxing accommodation. Nearby activities: 10 minute walk from seafront and main body of town with many high end bars and restaurants. Safety: Secure, lockable rooms with well mapped walkways. Walkability: On average, a ten minute walk from town centre. Food & drinks: Excellent.
We had a wonderful experience at Gleann-na-Smol. The house is cozy, clean, and feels incredibly homey. It's a short walk from the beach and the town center and there's a grocery store nearby as well. Shawn, the owner, has been simply wonderful - kind and welcoming, always happy to help with anything we needed and ready to give us tips for local things to do and see. Nothing but positive experiences, can't recommend this place enough. Thank You for everything, Shawn
Great location as you're just far enough off the beaten track to be away from the madness, but close enough for it to be handy. Room was very clean with a decent shower and plenty of towels. Breakfast was very nice indeed. Sean was a lovely host and I'd defo go back again. I' d bring some earplugs if you're a light sleeper as the rooms and adjoining communal area/living room are in quite close proximity. Also if you're not a morning person like me then you may want to get up extra early to avoid the morning rush. Chances are you could end up sharing a table with total strangers as there's only 2. And once again, Sean is a legend and the definition of the word 'host'.
The place was somewhat hidden, as there was no clear sign that there was a B&B. The host was friendly and welcoming and he showed me the room. I was traveling on my own, but got a family room nonetheless. The room was okay, but was dated and needed repair and a deep cleaning. The room had plenty of towels to avail of. The bed was ok. The room lacked sockets, there were only 2 that I could find. The breakfast in the morning was a bit messy and not up to standards what you expect from a B&B. The location was perfect to start your hike along the cliffs and hills of Howth. I happened to get a good deal, but this B&B is not value for money to be honest.
Lovely place to stay at! The house is clean, the rooms are small but very nice. Shaun is an awesome host and his full Irish breakfast is awesome! Will return soon Rooms: 5/5
Great location can be a little tricky to find. 5 minutes walk from local shop, 10 minutes walk to Howth Harbour and local pubs. 5 minute walk to start Howth Cliff Walk. Quiet and very Safe location. Fab host, great breakfast to set you up for the day. Nearby activities: Howth Harbour, boat tours, cliff walks and mini food market.
