I have used this bar and restaurant on a number of occasions during the previous two months with no complaint, good food and drink and ambience, although I wish the large window that is boarded up would be replaced. However this current one star review relates to a less than satisfactory experience on Sunday 20 November. I popped in for a coffee with two friends who were visiting. We ordered 3 coffees and the delay in getting served was nearly 10 minutes, waiting at the counter. When the drinks were being prepared I noticed that cardboard type cups were being used, and I asked if we could have normal crockery cups, and I indicated where I could see some on a low shelf, and previous customers had received normal cups and saucers. However I was told by the server that they had been told that they now had to issue drinks in the cardboard type cups as it created less washing up!I could hardly believe what I had just been told. Surely normal cups and saucers goes with the territory , is part of a normal service. I had to pay the normal price, no discount for a reduced level of service. Might I suggest that this is not acceptable practice. Take on additional staff to clear tables and wash up is the solution, do not assume that customers will just accept a reduced and inferior service.

I would like to sayghank you to the nova staff after the last northern soul night for helping me enjoy my night and to jeep the atmospheres there was one staff member who stood out that night and I think he name was Shelly I can no recall properly she was so helpful kind and helped me and my friends in anyway she could she deserves a medal she even managed to call a taxi after we had drunk way to much and to get me away safely you don't see that in many staff anymore I also led behind a Cardigan which the girl had nicely place behind the counter for it , but on the day of my arrival to acquire my cardigan there was a young lady around the ages of early Thirty's whos attitude was disgusting and as I asked her politely I have come to pick up my cardigan she said in a dreadful manner oh its your was so rude and just threw it on the bar I thought this was not good customs service after that I'm surprised she had a job there staff like that lose buissness but I have been a few times as I live in the area and my friends and family have all said food is lovely but that same lady has come up and people said her manners and attitude are unacceptable in that type of establishment, I havevnt really been back since that incident shame I really like the nova.

A bit of a hidden gem of a place in Prestatyn , we've only had drinks here so can't comment on the food, but the bar is lovely. If it's warm there is a nice outside sitting area, on colder times the inside bar is great, big windows over looking the sea. The staff are always really friendly too. Highly recommend.
