Lovely little pub the food was so nice and the prices are very reasonable and the staff are really friendly. We had the mixed grill, the meat was lovely and juicy, it dose come with peas and black pudding but I left them out but you can order onion rings for on extra £2. Will deffo be going back. Next time I wanna try the carvery because it looks so nice. If you have young children there is a play area outside too
After a drive out called in her for late lunch There is free parking here which is a bonus There is an area where you can eat dog friendly.nThe food was great here. We had nice garlic mushrooms to start and ribs and mixed grill was great. Friendly service here as well.
A spontaneous visit for a Sunday roast dinner. I arrived not long after 2 pm. The car park was pretty busy. As I entered I noticed only a 2 score from the environmental health authority. So I entered with caution. The restaurant was busy with families, small groups and couples. I thought it can’t be that bad if it’s this busy.nnI was allocated a table in a quiet area of the restaurant. I ordered a carvery at the bar then proceeded to the serving area. Staff are very friendly, welcoming and pleasant. Service is prompt and the noise levels aren’t too intrusive. The meat on offer was topside beef, gammon or pork.nnI opted for the gammon and pork. I also had the Yorkshire pudding, sausage stuffing with pigs in blankets. My veggie choice was broccoli, carrots, swede and parsnips. Roasties were crisp whilst the chicken gravy was rich, tasty and great texture. The ambiance was relaxed and the natural lighting was perfect.
Me and my partner went here on a Sunday evening because we had read a previous reviews saying that it was dog friendly and we have a four month old puppy who were not 100% confident in leaving on his own yet.nnWe were pleasantly surprised that there was A designated his own for the ‘ Well-behaved’ Dogs This may be standard in pubs That are dog friendly however, this was our first experience.nnUpon arrival, we were slightly concerned at the food hygiene rating sticker which showed they were given a 2 out of 5, However, due to the dog friendly manner, we decided to give it a go. We were definitely pleasantly surprised.nnFood was a real good, I had the chicken burger with added pulled pork And my partner had the mixed grill, Her steak was cooked Perfectly at medium rare on my burger was okay but a little bit dry. The only other negative for the food was that it seemed to have been left on the pass for awhile as my coleslaw had gone warm and watered downnnValue for money comes a standard as it was pretty average price for a pub we spent a total of £61.50, This was for a sharing nachos platter, Mixed grill with added onion rings and added blue cheese and mushroom sauce, Chicken burger with added pulled pork, A side of sweet potato fries these were not needed during to decent portion sizes A large Pepsi Max And a pint of blackcurrant and water.
The restaurant has a lovely setup, with indoor and outdoor seating, a kids’ play area, and a family-friendly menu. The food was good overall — my steak was cooked well but could have used better seasoning.nnWhat let the experience down was the service. My first contact was at the door with a staff member named Chloe, when I asked about seating. Instead of a warm welcome, the interaction felt rushed and dismissive. Later, when I went to the bar for drinks, I was served by her again and had a similar experience — little eye contact and an overall cold manner that made me feel more like an interruption than a customer. I rarely mention staff names in reviews unless good, but in this case I felt uncomfortable enough that it was worth noting.nnTo be fair, I had read many positive reviews praising both the food and the friendliness of the staff, which encouraged me to visit. Perhaps it was simply an off day for the staff I encountered, but unfortunately it left a poor impression.
