I have visited this home a number of times and can say that The Home Manager is very knowledgeable, caring and wears her heart on her sleeve. She is very passionate and goes over and above to ensure the residents receive the best care and the team feel valued and appreciated. The team are lovely, friendly and welcoming.
If I could give this place, no stars I would it’s filthy dirty, not just untidy but filthy looks nice in photographs but seeing rooms are disgusting staff are rude especially the receptionist when I asked her a simple question she told me it was none of my business, even though I was looking to stick my husband in there The way they treat patients is not humane residents are left in their rooms by themselves. 4 o’clock on a sunny afternoon. They’re all shoved in their rooms in their beds because it’s more convenient for them to do that. they have a massive TV room, filthy dirty, only one resident in there because he can walk about him self very dark, dingy place to stay. Bathrooms are dirty. I wouldn’t even stick my dog in a place that bad if you’re looking to bump off your elderly relative it’s the right place to go but if you love and care for your relative, you should never ever ever ever ever stick them in a place like this
My experience at George Potter House. This place is extremely out dated in every way. As soon as you walk in it is dark and gloomy and there is an odious smell that follows you around the home. This makes the place very unpleasant. The staff are rude abrupt and impolite. When I asked for help they were impertinent and disrespectful. The management staff do not want to help you they send you on a wild goose chase for you to go and sort it out for yourself. My mum was not happy there and she would often say to take me home. Sometimes she would chase me down the corridor and say do not leave me here. She would lock herself away and isolate herself in her room because she was scared. She told me other residents would come into her room and she did not know who they were and she did not feel safe. She was not monitored. Her room was filthy and there was always a strong smell in the room. The food that was provided was jank There is also a rats infestation. I saw mice running around in my mums room and around the corridors. This is seriously contagious. As time went by my mum's health deteriorated and she was removed due to the lack of care from the care home. There is no motivation to do any activities to help the resident. Most of the time they have to stay in their rooms and be watched. On a sunny day they just look out of the windows. I have seen some carers push and drag some of the residents. They also shouted at them aggressively. I was shocked to see that and l was worried for my mum. I do not feel that this is a safe place for anyone to put their elderly and vulnerable relatives in this place. There needs to be a dramatic change in the staff management as a whole. A new training programme in care and empathy. It needs to start within the individual person. Unfortunately this place is not safe. I would think very carefully and think twice before considering putting your relatives into the care of these people.
I visited my friend who lives Georg Potter House. I visited different times while he was there. Given him good care. Staff are Friendly and welcoming. It is a decent homecare.
what a decent and nice looking place .. the only shining light is the wonderful receptionist who is always jovial smiling and laughing .. the residents and especially the management there are extremely lucky to have her there .. the other staff also seem very polite
Can't believe anyone could say anything negative about receptionist. Unless it's a old post I fine her friendly, helpful, cheerful, Always happy to help. Reception is not manned at the weekend. And if there's a problem with the loo. Or light bulb needs replacing there's no maintanance either. Not sure of activaties or if residents are incourage to take part. Find food combination very odd Fish paste sandwich Mash, Ravioli, scotch eggs, was an eye opener will visit more at meal times now. Don't often see staff when on a visit. Dad's happy there but he has dementia.
I spoke to Jerry and I work for a funeral directors, Jerry's bedside manner is atrocious and could do with some training, please don't refer to the dead as a 'body' but as a person. And his English is barely understandable. How he works in a health care background I don't know. Next time get someone who can speak a normal speed to call us.
Worst care home ever I had no option but to click the one star I don’t know who wrote the other reviews but it must be a joke DONT SEND YOUR ELDERLY RELATIVE HERE MY aunt was in these peoples care for a month there’s no proper care or nurses here just people calling themselves nurses who are health care assistants who act like nurses My aunts health detoriated whilst in this home they don’t know how to care or look after the elderly Infact they are left in a bed room all day just left alone unless you have family coming My aunt was mistreated by the night staff who would go in her room and take away her panic bell and move her bedside table away and shout at her for no reason when my aunt only wanted help The day staff and one particular women who thinks she’s a nurse does not know what certain medications are she behaved worst than anything the management don’t care when approached they don’t like complaints They wouldn’t call an ambulance for my aunt inspite of her requesting one for days when complaining of head pain and tummy ache my mum had also asked staff to call an ambulance but she was ignored by staff they were rude I came in called the ambulance who came and took my aunt into hospital for the care she needed had I not called the ambulance she might not have made it Complaint has been made and the hospital know of the neglect given by this awful care home it’s more of a hell home unclean and smelly please don’t send your relative here
