We had a couple of drinks which were very nice and there was a nice buzz to the pub, without it being too busy. However, the decor and maintenance really let the side down, the pool table area was very run down. The first stool I sat on was extremely wobbly and I had to change it. Also, the ladies loo was freezing and my knees touched the door in the cubicle when I sat down and I'm only 5ft 9! Has lots of potential and it's a nice pub, I just felt it needed some tlc and a good scrub up.

Had been here previously and the food was good. However, on our most recent visit I was told we would have to wait an hour for a table of 6. We were sat straight away in a relatively quiet restaurant. We’re confident the waiting time had be fabricated to deter us from booking the table. We then waited over an hour to be served. We took it upon ourselves to find someone to order and found someone serving at the bar. We told them we had been waiting over an hour to which they argued we had not. The lady serving said ‘fine I’ll check with the waiter then’ and was promptly proved wrong. The waiter then came over and by then we had decided to give up as the service had been terrible. We told the waiter we were leaving and he said fine and didn’t even apologise! Won’t be returning!

Friendly staff, good food, great value. Family friendly also, cant wait to return here when weather improves as they have great garden

Georgeous carvery! My partner and I only popped in on the off chance of getting a carvery fairly late Sunday afternoon after trying to get a meal at the Toby. So pleased the Toby was too busy as we enjoyed a totally delicious carvery & for only £5.49 each! The staff was lovely & friendly even though clearly very busy. Parking was good and free. The roast beef dinner I had was scummy; my boyfriend had the beef & gammon ( turkey available too) with a great selection of veg and delicious gravy like my nan used to make. We will definitely be returning. Fab value, fab food & fab service. Can't wait for our next visit.

Old pub nice atmosphere. Comfortable sofa's. Nice real ale.
