Story

Built around 1864, The Foxglove was originally known as the Railway Junction Inn, due to the anticipation of a proposal in 1864 to construct a railway extension from Barnsley to a junction with the London and North West Railway. During the 1930's the inn was known as The Three Owls. In 2000 it became The Foxglove.
A country pub oozing rural charm and rustic character, our picturesque surroundings provide the perfect backdrop for savouring the hearty, seasonal pub-food on our menu, and the carefully nurtured cask ales and fine wines gracing our bar.

Looowely kitchen, nice stuff, clean and confortable rooms. Exelent place for rest after peak district walk.
Very nice meal with table only service that took a little longer than usual but that's to be expected while these places are working things out. There was proper protection in place including track and trace. The lobster fish cakes were probably the best thing on the menu. Good value meal.
Salad came with no dressing, cakes came with no tea. But the lamb on special was very nice! Presentation was also very good.
Excellent food and friendly, helpful staff. Definitely would recommend.
Always superb customer service, great atmosphere both inside and outside. Really cosy during colder months. Good range of drinks, ales, lagers etc food ok but very expensive for what it is.
