Stayed for a weekend in July with two young children and our dog. It rained for most of the time but we still enjoyed ourselves and the trees offered a little welcome protection from the British summer rain! There was a fair amount of mud on the paths leading from the car park, so wellies were useful, but even so the toilets and showers were kept remarkably clean. It felt a very spacious site and we chose to pitch a fair walk from the car park but there were plenty of wheelbarrows available to transport kit. First time users of compost toilets; don't be put off if you've not encountered them before, these were fine. Our 5 year old initially worried about falling in but thought it was fun putting the sawdust in. The family showers were great and rivalled many luxury hotels we have stayed at! Campfires allowed with wood available to purchase at the site so remember your marshmallows! Trip out to the sandy West Beach at Littlehampton was perfect for sandcastle building during a brief break in the rain. Thank you for a wonderful first camping trip for our children (and dog)! We'll definitely be returning next season and hoping for better weather so we can fully appreciate this beautiful campsite and its surrounding area.

We just got back from 3 nights. The camp site was amazing and in our opinion the best we've stayed in across the UK. Large pitches that you can select for yourselves under the forest canopy, fire pits allowed with wood available to purchase. The showers and toilets were very clean and well maintained. You can even charge your devices for a small charge by leaving it with them. There's a really nice pub, The Fox, about 200 metres up the road from the campsite entrance, with horses and a really nice little playground with good apparatus. Supermarkets nearby too. The owners and, helpers, are charming, lovely people. Kids loved getting muddy and making new friends by the rope swings, and us, parents, could relax knowing they were safe. Will definitely go again and can't rate this place highly enough. We miss it already and just back home!

My wife and I had a great stay here this weekend. The owners were lovely and friendly and the campsite is spacious and set in a beautiful forest. Toilet and shower facilities were good although only at the entrance so a bit of a walk for some campers. They allow campfires which really makes it proper camping. Would definitely return.

This campsite is heavenly - we were looking for somewhere natural, beautiful and simple and we found it. I hate the regimented rows of tents in so many uk campsites but this was gorgeous. Pick your own pitch under the trees and lovely little fire circles with every pitch. The best thing for me is that because you have to park a little way away from the pitches you don't have to constantly wourry your kids will get run over by cars going right past your tent, so they can be totally free to run and play. We hardly saw our two all weekend as they were off running about with a herd of kids! The site is extremely well run and organised, the buildings are very in keeping with such a natural place and the toilets are immaculate. Will definitely return. Camping as it should be!

I was convinced I would never be a camper...glamper maybe...but never a camper. It wasn't until I visited Fox Wood with my kids and with some friends and their families that I found myself a convert. Fox Wood had totally done it for me. The beautiful setting amongst the gorgeous woods, the crackling of fire in the late evenings, the lovely lovely hosts who would do anything to help you out, my kids never once asked for the iPhone..I was won over. Fox Wood has been one of the most wonderful experiences I've had...so much so, I visited them with my family twice within a month! They have lovely showers, clean compostable toilet facilities making it very eco too, amazing walks and cycle routes right from the site, my kids loved the rope swing and slide and spent so much time getting to know other children and just playing and enjoying time in the woods. I can't fault the site in any way, Sarah and Ian have thought of everything and I'm excited to see what more can become of Fox Wood. Thank you both, I can strike off my training title and officially call myself a pro! See you next year, we'll be back x
