Started off lovely. The overall pub has incredible interior design from the layout of tables and the bar to the washrooms and their usability but the food was not top notch. The beef with the roast was too fatty unfortunately but some may like that, my partners roast did not come with crackling or stuffing and the Eton mess seemed to have cream which had soured leaving a soapy taste on my palette. Staff were lovely bar one who wasn’t necessarily dressed appropriately and parred us off when we asked to order food and said they’d get another waitress. And a few of the younger waitresses came over in pairs even though it wasn’t necessary. 3/5 but does have potential to be 5/5 with some work.
What a find! We had the best Sunday roast, I enjoyed every bite and it was all presented beautifully. Great drinks selection, again presented well loved the glasses. Can't wait to return with more friends or family.
Really delicious meal. Haven't had such a good burger in a long time. The service was extremely friendly and helpful.
Two of us chanced it at random on a Friday night looking for some decent [independent] pub grub in a nice atmosphere. Nailed it. Fairly limited menu but definitely worth trying the "~of the day" options. Had the fish and it was delicious, all fresh looking with decent portions. Brownie was good too. The staff were helpful and friendly, was a nice atmosphere and there was even a log fire.
Not the best burger ...fries full with oil... My wife didn't enjoy the steak what looked more like a pig meat instead beef. Nothing to say WOW about the place. Definitely not recommended.
Lovely countryside pub with reasonably priced food. The atmosphere won't disappoint you. The taste of the food was good but my expectations were higher and hence 4 stars.
What a lovely experience for Sunday lunch, really great and great staff. Good portion size the roast beef was beautiful and the roasties were fluffy inside. Good work
Usually have such a good experience at the Fostons Ash, however this time we found a hair in the risotto. After pointing this out to the waitress who didn't offer an apology, who went away and then came back to offer a free dessert which we declined as not needed. Went to pay and once again not offered an apology. Paid bill in full. Very disappointed overall. Simple apology would have sufficed.
Went on Super Saturday for a couple of pints and a dose of normality and left with big smiles and happy hearts! The pub has taken the covid restrictions very seriously and was a safe and extremely welcoming place to enjoy a pint. We were pleased with the nibbles we tried but the menu food looks and smells great. Great atmosphere and friendly staff. We’ll be back.
What a lovely pub, inside and out, its stunning, so cute! Food was delicious too. Staff we were friendly and attentive. They did forget our starter but they were busy and management were quick to rectify this by offering free dessert. I would advise to not sit near the fire when it's lit though, the smoke can play havoc with your eyes. Would visit again if in the area.
