Nice atmosphere and a fantastic waitress who had only been there a week. Very nice, helpful and friendly. Special board and mains. Duck was excellent and homemade bread and butter pudding. 3 people, 2 courses and 2 rounds of drinks. About £100
Great little pub, friendly staff and good selection of tasty beer. Honestly though and being British it's not easy, but hopefully it's constructive , the food was just ok; homely but by no means gourmet, and was a bit of a let down when thinking of a typical gastro pub. Perhaps the head chef if there is one was not on, or our expectations were too high. The sauces seemed to be not made in the kitchen, the rice a touch overcooked, and the chicken bland although the chicken burger was tasty. Finishing on a positive, the dessert was delicious. Your call I guess!! 3.5 stars. Because of the price, we probably wouldn't go back. Edit after response from owner: your menu is complex, and as Mr Ramsay might suggest, overly so then for home cooking. I am sure the sauces that we were served were from jars. Do you have a head chef and is he/she restricted? In my opinion, you could bring it down a notch and focus on some great dishes. But I'm just a paying customer, so nobody really of any importance ...
The food is superb and the service too. Great friendly pub, warm and comfortable seating. Didn't have to wait long and worth every penny. Have been a couple of times now and will return again.
I've eaten here before and had a good experience. Today not so good. Service was very slow and when we mentioned this to the waitress, instead of apologising we were told 'they were busy'. The meal when it did eventually arrive was not good. Two people's chicken was tough, one complained about stringy ham and another of a tasteless hamburger. As I say, previously we have had a most enjoyable experience dining here so let's hope it was a one off.
We visited today at lunch time, had bookedadvisable ,excellent menu choice, good freshly cooked meals, good helping and priced.Very friendly staff. Definitely come again.
Customer service: friendly and making the effort, accommodating, dog friendly. Good tasting food, pleasant atmosphere. Will return.
We came to the Ram Inn on a Thursday after watching some local fireworks and it’s everything you could want from a pub. Great beer selection and quality, great service and amazing food. Lamb shank was to die for. Can’t recommend this place enough. A proper pub.
Excellent food and staff. Really enjoyed our anniversary meal
Great service and atmosphere for our evening out with family. Keen to help, highchair available, hot water brought quickly. Food choices were very good. Loved the specials board. Chilli prawn risotto was very nice, perfectly cooked. Will be revisited.
Beautiful quaint pub with indoor and outdoor seating. We had the veggie burger & chips and leg of lamb roast and the food was excellent! The staff were also very friendly. Would highly recommend
