Welcome to one of Marston’s newly refurbished restaurants The Flying Childers located in Kirby Bellars near Melton Mowbray. Enjoy fantastic food from our rotisserie menu or try one of our chefs freshly prepared homemade specials. We have a lovely indoor children’s play area to keep the children entertained. For those sunnier days there is an outdoor eating area with a children’s activity park too! Offering free Wi-Fi and parking we are the perfect place for work or pleasure. Come along and see us.

Been here many times and now instead of having to queue at Bar, take a table and a Waiter/Waitress will be over to take your order pretty quickly. On the last visit they were very busy and we were told it would be 40-45 minutes before they would be able to serve our order. That's fine we said, but in fact it was less than half an hour. Sooner be told than sit there wondering. Well done, we will be back.

Range of drinks not brilliant. Food was mediocre to say the least. Service also left a lot to be desired

My mum and a family friend are gluten free and when asked for the gluten free option of a prawn cocktail it was fine. The food came out and we asked again if it was gluten free just to be sure, and the waitress replied ‘they’re all gluten free’. After eating, we asked the other waitress if this was definitely gluten free, so she went and checked. She came back out of the kitchen and said she was sorry but they were not gluten free and went and got the other waitress to explain and say sorry. The waitress came and said she was ‘sorry’ with a huge smile on her face, and said ‘there was nothing she could do because we had already eaten them’. They said we didn’t have to pay for anything, but the customer care was disgraceful.

My mother wanted to take 6 of us to have lunch at the Flying Childers and we all want on line and agreed the menu looked fabulous . We had great service but the food was badly cooked no taste and lacked any skill in cooking the most simplest of foods. Four of us had fish and chips ( simple to cook) but the chips were cold and the fish had no taste ,it was like it had been standing in the kitchen for a few hours and the re- cooked I also want to the rest room and one of the lock up toilets had no lock and the other no paper We will never go back ,please hire a better chef that can be bothered to cook and be proud of what they serve

The meals were very nice we had to wait a while but there was 11 of us. So what should we expect. We did enjoy it.
