I felt compelled to register to Google+ just to write this review because the poor reviews of Floatopia are about the management/customer service and noone has mentioned that the management seems to have changed. Floatopia used to be staffed by a pretty camp guy and now is staffed by a husband and wife. I never had any problems with the former and found him to be very pleasant. I fear that perhaps the poor reviews are from his period, though, because the husband&wife combo are SUPER lovely. Someone's already written about how welcoming and gentle they are and I can't emphasize this enough! They make you feel like at home and they leave you to it, which is particularly nice at the end when you're waiting in the 'chiling out' lounge at the back. The float itself is really good but I haven't been elsewhere to be able to compare. We go there because the 'floating' is done in rooms which are big enough for my 6ft7inch partner and because I think floating rooms probably feel less claustrophobic than the floating pods that I've seen in other places. I thoroughly recommend it and I actively recommend it to my friends.
I've been to Floatopia quite a few times now with my partner. Every time we have been the welcome has been delightful. Mario and Aya go to great lengths to make the experience as relaxing as possible. You are given an informative introduction to using the float chamber on your first visit and then left to enjoy and always welcomed on your return. Jayne, my partner, and I had not been for over a year but Aya remembered and welcomed both of us by name on arrival and even remembered a request Jayne had made the last time about the hairdryer and had provided for her request. Funny that one reviewer said it was a 'big salty bath in the dark'....it's not a bath it's a chamber,like a small room with the water in the bottom with epsom salts in to help you detox and provide the floating experience, you'd just sit on the bottom if it was without salt.... and it's meant to be in the dark to aid relaxation! Perhaps they were looking for a swimming pool - no wonder they were disappointed! After the float there's a lovely area at the rear of the centre where you can relax, listen to music, read books if you wish or even borrow them and have a soothing cold tea or water. Mario and Aya are gentle, welcoming and kind, just what you want if you are looking for a detox, de-stress and soothing float that feels like you are physically and mentally....well, floating! Absolutely recommend it and it won't be a year before we go back this time.
What a lovely centre! Soft furnishings, mood lighting, clean spacious float rooms and a welcoming proprietor. I'm so glad I went to Floatopia - feeling completely restored!
Absolutely loved it! Just got home from a lovely experience feeling more relaxed than I've ever been... Owners are lovely too and very welcoming. Will definitely go back when my stress level is high up again... i.e. next couple of weeks surely!!
Not something I would normally do, but was bought a session by my partner and was surprised at how relaxing the whole experience is. I can recommend trying this to set you up for a relaxing day or to unwind after a hard day at the office.
Bad customer service. Refused to honour a voucher when I called up the day before it expired. Fair enough if I'd called after the deadline but before is not acceptable. Avoid.
Totally recommend!! I feel so amazing after a float!! Takes away all the stresses of body and mind.
