Nice food. Excellent service. Nice beer. Lovely Riverside sto we're on holiday moored up outside had lunch on our way back to Ely
This is a big bar/restaurant but somehow they've managed to make it feel quite cosy. It caters for couples and large groups. Service is friendly and efficient. Food is good pub food. We've visited several times and the quality is overall good but can sometimes be slightly disappointing. However, these are exceptions. Their "fish and chips" is worth ordering. The views from the dining area are not only nice but can be rather amusing. Boats moor at the end of the garden and that is not always done as it should. Hire boats in particular often struggle to get alongside the bank. In general, luncheon or dinner at the Fives Miles is recommended.
Fantastic place for a good meal. The staff were attentive and the food came in a timely manner. The scenery was also great with a view of the boats passing by on the nearby river. This place will be high on my list when deciding on somewhere to eat lunch.
Food was really tasty and good value. Good classic pub food with plenty of choice and good selection of special on board inside. Service efficient and courteous. Spacious garden overlooks the river. Despite being busy, the garden felt quiet and peaceful and views along the river are beautiful.
Dog friendly garden in a delightful location on the River. Easy drive to Wicken Fen and if up for a longer walk there are paths from the pub. Staff shortage meant limited table service but we didn't wait too long for our meals.
Tried all the pubs and restaurants in this area and this one is certainly worth mentioning! It has very friendly but not 'false-friendly' and observant waitresses. They were very busy but also very on the ball. Food was spot on and quick. They even have different style atmospheres to suit individual preferences and plenty of room for lots of people. The outside space is scattered with more seating areas whilst having lovely open views of a small marina, and at night time the coloured lights shine through the huge Willow Tree in the centre, giving it a really nice and relaxing feel. I'm sure people will travel more than 'Five Miles From Anywhere' to enjoy what this place has to offer!
An absolutely brilliant Pub/Restaurant. Fantastic food which was served quickly, a great atmosphere and view. I cannot fault this place, Well worth a trip for everyone.
I popped in for breakfast this morning before going for a paddle down the river Cam. I had the full English breakfast £7.95 which was very good and a coke which came to £9.??, sorry I can't remember the exact price but it was under a tenner which I was happy with. It was fairly busy when I arrived but didn't feel overly packed or claustrophobic as it's a big place with a few large rooms and the tables aren't crammed together. On to the breakfast review. The sausages were beautiful and perfectly cooked and I have no complaints about the other ingredients either. The breakfast comprised of the following, 2 slices of toast, 1 x fried egg, 2 x hash browns, 2 x beautiful sausages, 1 x Bacon rasher, fried tomato half, a large fried mushroom and beans. If I had one issue it was the small butter packets for the toast as they were on the plate and already melted so I ended up with buttery fingers but that alone isn't worth taking a star off. The service was great despite the place being very busy, they have a lot of people working on the tables so there's always someone around if you need anything. Everyone I seen serving was very smiley and eager to help people which was nice to see. There were a lot of people having the Sunday roast and it looked and smelled amazing so I'll be taking my wife for that in the next few weeks. Just a last note on the toilets, they were very clean and smelled fresh. After my paddle I came back and there was live music on. Unfortunately I had to shoot off so couldn't stay for a drink. Being a nice day the place was very busy. It has a good outside space with plenty of tables and being by the river it has beautiful views, as I say I'll definitely be back and would gladly recommend it to anyone.
Had a lovely meal here today, we all enjoyed the food and also the desserts.
We had a group of about 30 people, the pub was pretty full too, but the service and the staff were excellent. Lovely hot food, nothing was too much bother. The pub really is in the middle of nowhere but we can understand why it is worth seeking out. We will definitely be returning.
