Not the best unfortunately. We ordered Small cod. Large Haddock, Medium Haddock, Plaice, 2 x large chips, curry sauce, mushy peas and 3 hot wings. Firstly it's chips included with Haddock on Saturday but not for me. Chips were dry and cold anyway. We didn't get our small cod and the hot wings were anything but hot. The fish we got though was very good. I think the staff need leadership TBH. If this is the standard I'll go elsewhere. Graham.
This is my go-to chip shop. I normally go on a Saturday lunch time and there is a lady who is super nice and remembers me. The cardboard boxes get a bit soggy on the trip home, but they have not collapsed on me yet and its better for the environment. Battered sausage, cod and chips all good. Parking: Always lots of space
Food is nice as per every fishnchickn that I have tried. Only thing letting the place down is the curry sauce which is more like a sauce you would get from a jar than chip shop curry sauce. The service is good but is overpriced if you get it delivered. The atmosphere in the shop is good but outside and around is alittle rough.Food: 4/5
The food is worth that little extra cost and because it's so good you should expect a delay unless preordering which is what I recommend to do. Service is good considering how busy they always are and if ordering Southern chicken or chicken burger or half/whole chicken then again expect a 20 plus minute wait as its mostly cooked to order so it really fresh. I would have to say this is the best fish/chicken chip shop in Basingstoke. As for rating atmosphere which is a weird thing to do it's a busy fish and chip shop so unless you bring the party don't expect one lol. Highly recommend
My second bad review for Brighton Hill's Fish n chicken. Just ordered a half chicken and chips which would normally have done for today and chicken for tomorrow. Not so, chicken had to be thrown away. IT WAS NOT COOKED. The chicken was chewy and actually had blood in it where it was obviously not cooked through. None of it was edible, it was all plasticy chewy. Like the last time, by the time you get home, changed and sit down to eat, you just can't be bothered to take it back which is what I should have done. Undercooked chicken can be dangerous and in extreme cases can cause food poisoning among other things. Get a grip on what you are doing Fish n chicken before you put someone in hospital with food poisoning.
I visit from Australia every 18months and this place is the first place I am busting to go to. Just simply the best food cod and chips with mushy if this was in Australia it would be so popular. So well done you guys and can't wait to see you in Aug this yearFood: 5/5
Brilliant service phone up due to not receiving my order after ordering from just eat was told it was delivered but never received my order when I was on the phone they were very helpful trying to help me to resolve my issue. Than told me to come to the shop and they redone my order for no extra charge. I am so thankful for the help and support and my children enjoyed there dinner. All food was lovey will definitely be going again but in future will just drive and not go though just eat
Ordered via just eat .. order never arrived phoned the store who said the order was out for delivery without even taking name address or order number was told to call just eat that's impossible without a contact number do you not have numbers for your drivers or just yourselves ? Poor service from just eat and fish and chicken... although reading some of the reviews seems like the food isnothing special to miss out on just more annoyed how I'm now £24 out of pocket
Paid for food via just eat food never turned up...Still waiting for a refund..and still waiting for food.... Tried to phone store she told me to contact just eat...but just eat can only be contacted via online and takes 48 hours for a response. Was absolutely disgusted that my situation wasn't reviewed and sorted out... What ever happened to the customer is always right... Absolutely disgusting...no food got delivered and they still took my money without any compromise... I wouldn't recommended to even my enemies.. They couldn't even be bothered to try to help sort out my delivery issues but very happily took my money.. Scamming thefts.... Very angry and disgusted....
Fish is generally very good, light batter that is golden and crispy. Chicken is OK, had it a few times but tends to be very dry. Chips always look anemic and undercooked, portion sizes seem to change based on how they feel like wrapping them. Curry sauce is lovely though!
