I 've been visiting this practice for a number of years but my last time at the hygeniest is going to be the last ever for this place. They keep changing hygeniests which I can understand but basically they treat your teeth like they are a grinding stone. The hygeniest caused me a lot of pain and basically chipped my tooth. I am pretty sure she removed some of the enamel with her terrible practice. She was really bad and possibly someone suitable to sharpen knives rather than handle teeth. I also find pathetic the constant increase of prices while their service is going to the bottom.

Having not been to the dentist for a shameful number of years because of an acute phobia, I got to the point where I had to go as a tooth was causing me psychological trauma as well as physical discomfort. I tried another local dentist who were supposedly phobia friendly and left crying without havung even spoken to a dentist so was reluctant to even think about another dentist. My husband found Ferndale for me and I got a suitable appointment, with much trepidation on my part. Jackie, the Patient Coordinator, couldn't have been nicer and completely put me at ease despite my hysterics and phobia. Another appointment was made to meet the dentist, Martyn has the patience of a saint and completely let me lead the appointment, he was so very kind and reassuring and gentle that I felt able to actually sit in the chair which for me was unthinkable. I went back for intravenous sedation a couple of weeks later and my main treatment has now been carried out. Martyn is a truly outstanding dentist who is non-judgmental, sympathetic and incredibly patient, as is his dental nurse. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Ferndale to anyone, I have gone from being physically sick at the thought of going to a dentist to feeling I could go with little notice or support which, for someone as terrified as myself, I never thought would happen. Many thanks to all at Ferndale.

I have worked in many practices around the UK, both private and NHS and experienced all levels of customer care. My Team and we pride ourselves on not only meeting patient expectations but surpassing them, in a calm, relaxing and professional manner. 99% of our patients are happy to refer friends and family for treatment at Ferndale.

Had a hockey accident where my two front teeth were knocked out, Dr Cox and team saw me immediately and within the next two hours I had a full smile again. So friendly and comforting considering the trauma I had been in, made me feel so at ease. Thank you

Having experienced some horrors with dentists throughout my childhood, my biggest fear was going to the dentist. The first time I took steps to rectify this problem was through discussion (many years ago) with a receptionist who recommended Martyn Cox. I could not believe how lucky I was to have found him. I sat in the chair, sweating and shaking and as Martyn's hands loomed towards me I was ready to run but I didn't, thank goodness. His hands were gentle, his voice calm and everything about him was reassuring. I have now gone form someone who avoided the dentist at all costs to someone who goes to the hygienist three monthly and always have check ups with Martyn, on the dot! I have undergone Zoom teeth whitening (excellent) and since then have taken great care to look after my teeth. My hygienist always praises me for my daily efforts and to be honest with you, I can't remember the last time I had a filling. The whole team at Ferndale are friendly, calming and reassuring. The care is the best I have ever experienced, and long may it continue. Well done Ferndale. 10 stars from me!
