Excellent place to stay!
We spent 4 days in the area and Fernavilles Rest could not have been a better base to return to each evening. Such a welcoming host, great food, lovely atmosphere, attentive and friendly bar/restaurant staff, and a excellent room to boot. All you could want from a country inn, and the rest. 
Had a wonderful stay - will definitely be booking again when next in the area.

Absolutely loved this little hotel Tom and his staff were a delight, looked after us brilliantly. Great food and drinks. Rooms were clean and comfortable ..would recommend anyone who is going up and around Barnard Castle give it a try ..well done Tom

Just had a wonderful lunch at Fernaville's Rest lovely atmosphere and helpful staff. Can't wait to go back. Had an evening meal between Xmas and New year and it was great would definitely recommend you try it.

Great service, great food, excellent beer (Teesdale Bitter). Perfect venue for the end of my walk.
