Falmouth Town station is in the town centre of Falmouth, one stop away from the end of the line Falmouth Docks. It is usually not busy so there will be space in the waiting shelter. There is a ticket machine so you don't need to prebook the tickets. The way in is up a ramp and that leads you to the platform and in the waiting shelter there is the ticket machine. The station is a little busy at some times but there is still lots of space around the platform. Would reccomend a lot.
Such a vibrant, busy little town full of charming independent stores on the high street. Beautiful docks and amazing places to grab a bite. Totally loved the vibes. Like any other Cornish town, the public transport is scarce. Being a student town, it has all the cool things to do on a weekend. For history buffs there is a beautiful castle overlooking the sea.
Basic railway station in Falmouth with a slope up to access the platform. Only one bus style shelter to hide in from the rain in poor weather. They are spending over £40,000,000 on this line so maybe an upgrade is coming?
Travelled to Falmouth by train. Short walk into the town. Got Cornish Pasties and coffee. Walked though the shops, some of them individual. Walked down to the harbour and sat on the front to eat our cornishes and look at the boats and yachts. Pleasant day all-round.
Most of the reviews/photos seem to be for the town rather than the station, so I'm doing my bit to redress the balance.nnFalmouth Town station receives a half-hourly service in each direction between Falmouth Docks and Truro, although in the future, one train per hour will be extended past Truro through to Newquay via St Austell and Par.nnThere's a fairly large car park and single ticket machine at the bottom of a fairly long and steep ramp leading to the platform. This ramp will be helpful for pushchairs and bikes, but may be too steep for wheelchairs.nnThe station itself is a single platform with a bus-stop style waiting shelter and real-time departure screen. When boarding the train there is a very large step up and gap between the train and the platform.nnOverall, three stars. It does the job but is nothing to write home about!
